Default FirstMerit bank not working

FirstMerit www.firstmerit.com
We can't connect right now!
FirstMerit may be down for maintenance
The connection may be too slow
Problems like these are usually resolved in 24 hours.

I have been getting this error all day?

Angry First Merit

have you previously been able to log in to your First Merit account? I am new and tried to link my account and keep getting the same message since last Friday.

Post Hi pizzle,

Do you notice if there's a difference on the forms on our site? For example, does your bank require additional information when logging in from a different computer & we're missing fields?

Damon,

I know they store cookies on computers because I had to label home and office, but if you turn off cookies or log on from a different pc it will ask you your 3 security questions, which i enter on the form when trying to set the account up. i emailed the bank and got a generic response from them on the issue of not allowing websites to connect. I can post that here for you..

Does the First Merit website allow services such as Mint.com to access our accounts? I tried to enroll my First Merit account at Mint.com, but it is never able to connect with your website. Please advise.

Post Hi,

Mint actually connects via Yodlee...so the bank may not be aware of that.

And you're answering the questions on the form correctly?

Damon,

I am logging in with the security questions and answers in the same order as they are on my firstmerit profile. do you guys have the ability to 'take over' computers when troubleshooting? I know ADP does this when I have problems here at work. If you were to see exactly what I was doing and the info on the bank's site it could help figure out why it wont connect.

Post Hi pizzle,

Taking over the computer wouldn't help (connectivity issues are actually an entirely different beast).

Anything else that the bank requires? If not, I will have to file a bug.

I get the same thing when I try to connect to FirstMerit. It's been happening for a couple of days now. The only thing I can think of is that when I go to their site (firstmerit.com) to log in, after clicking on "Online Banking" the site where you log in is actually firstmeritib.com
