Default A different opinion

New user here and love mint so far. I'm going to take the opposite view and ask mint to think carefully before adding a bunch of manual features. In my view, this is the first step towards creating a double entry accounting system like Quicken or Money...and if you need that level of reconciliation and integration between accounts, then those seem like better solutions for you.

But, for those of us that just want a really, really simple way to track 90% of our activity and want a solution that doesn't require to reconcile, balance, account for every penny, this is a god send. no monual entry, no painful reconciliation each month trying to identify the why I'm off by 10 cents...in short, its something I will USE.

So, thanks for keeping it simple!

Why can you not achieve both objectives. For those that want the simpler system then do not use the manual entries and continue to use the nice features that Mint offers. With MS money having gone away, some of use would like to see some of these fuller features like manual entry, cash flow projection, account reconciliation and bill pay added to Mint to make a more fuller and central money management site.

Anyone ever get paid in cash? for example, doing odd-jobs like labor, etc. anything under a few hundred bucks is useless to deposit, unless you enjoy going to the ATM, which I don't.

a few hundred bucks each month adds up after a while, and all of that money (income and expenses) is nowhere to be seen on mint!

critical issue, the issue seems to be that they don't have it for "ease of use" reasons. It's much easier for me to type on my computer for 2 minutes than to drive 15 minutes to the bank to deposit every time i receive some cash.

Can we get a timeline when the ability to have wallets will be added. I also want to stress that we need to be able to have multiple wallets. I use two, and switch between them. If cash transactions are added and you are stuck with only one wallet the feature will be pointless to me.

I have an asset called "cash on hand" - - it's where my ATM cash withdrawals go.

I mostly spend cash on hand on lunch and the like. But I can't find a way to expense those funds manually.

What am I missing?

I ran into another situation where manual cash entries would be handy. We went to dinner with several people, and offered to pay with our credit card. The other people gave us cash for their portions of the meal (very common situation). However, now Mint is showing that we're over our Restaurants budget for the month, and we have no way to account for the fact that only part of it was actually spent on us and that the rest was converted to cash which is in our wallets.

This situation needs to be addressed ASAP.
