I'd doubt HSBC would be much different. I can tell you with 99% certainty that the policy of HSBC is to also not support aggregators. If you tell them your Mint doesn't work with HSBC they're going to say they don't support that connection. I feel your frustration though. Mint has been my most inconsistent account, but I'm of the opinion that what we're doing really shouldn't be supported by banks. More of this falls on Mint to stay active on updating their method of connecting to banks as they update their login methods. ING clearly changed the way we log in and it's not their fault for doing that. They have good reasons for doing so and I'm not going to tell them to get lost because of it. |

I know not the easiest, but just add ING again like a new account, it will for some reason update them both.. then delete the NEWEST ING account..... Hope that makes sense.... Not sure why it works on new adds....

You will need to update old account after adding new one. Once complete, delete the NEW account, if not you will delete all old activity from original account..

TO: ING Direct
I have been keeping up with the technical difficulties at MINT.com accessing ING accounts. There is a posted correspondence between a customer using both ING and an online account aggregator and with a certain Rick Roberts of ING. It does not reflect positively on ING, a company that in my view does business by doing the right thing, when truly closed minded and negative press comes to some of the interest's most active members. Please do not under-estimate the MINT.com zealots that create lots of waves in their respective online community. MINT.com people, from my experience, are crazier fans that ING users, and as a MINT.com user myself I would really like for ING and MINT to resolve these security measures in some compromising manner. http://forums.mint.com/showthread.php?p=44020 It saddens me that ING is willing to lose customers to Ally bank or some other competitor because of your unwillingness to accommodate technical issues that can bring in great customers. The reality is account aggregators are supremely useful and will continue to get more useful as people get more accounts that need to be managed. An ING password is probably safer stored at MINT.com than on the post-it note most 40 year olds use other wise. I love banking at ING, and I really hope ING will reconsider it's position on account aggregators or risk losing more customers to other online banks. Please be advised that intend post this conversation to the MINT.com forums. [Don't let me down ING] ![]() I look forward to hearing from you. Faithful saver of long time, ~Eric TO:Eric Hi Eric, ING DIRECT does not support aggregation services, such as Mint.com, because we cannot monitor them to determine how they address security, privacy or the use of cookies. Once account information leaves ING DIRECT, we have no control over our Customers' personal information, nor do we know how it may be used. With that said, we are working on a solution that will allow Customers to use aggregation services in a secure way. Stay tuned. Thanks, Nora ING DIRECT USA Equal Housing Lender Member FDIC |
