Default budget views and spending trends

There are two main things now keeping me from switching over to Mint from Yodlee. There used to be three things, but custom category support has been added to Mint, so now there are just two:

1) I can only view my actual spending vs. my budget for a single month. I should be able to slice and dice my data however I want to view it, whether it's a few months at a time or a whole year at a time. If I can do this in Trends, I should be able to do it for tracking against my budget.

2) Spending trends needs to take returns/credits into account. Budget tracking currently supports this, so I don't really get why spending trends can't.

Is there an existing timeline for addressing these concerns? Can I sign up to be notified somehow when these features are implemented?

I agree with you completely. I would also like to be able to:

1. budget by a 12-13 month period
2. have a budget date to apply transaction to the approriate budget period.
3. to have unused moneys in a budget period roll to the next period.
4. better reporting and comparision to last year, last month, last quarter or to user specififed periods.
5. have income catgories in budgets
6. see the total spend and income inccurred during the period(s) outside of the defined budget periods.

I agree and in addition we need an income trends information and by extentioin a savings tab that will show:
1. increase/decrease in networth or savings
2. provide trend information on networth and savings over time.
3. and drill down capabilities to understand reasons for changes
4. comparision reporting to previous periods like last month, last quarter, last year, etc.
5. ability to compare networth, income and savings trends to like people or families in a specified area.

Okay, I guess I'm going to go check out Yodlee. After spending an entire day adding all my stuff to Mint, these issues are just deal breakers. What a bummer!!

I completely agree. I really want the ability to view multiple months of budget, the same as you can do for Spending. It's important to understand spending versus allocation.

It's really a bummer that trends is completely useless for me right now (and has been the past few months). It used to work allright and was somewhat helpful though lacking features or any sort of customization.

Since the recent changes were made, I can't view any of my transactions in trends anymore. Trying to view any time period using the slider bar results in the previous 3 months being highlighted and it says "no transactions during this period" (even though there are)
