This sucks if it's true.

Unhappy

Looks like it is true and it totally sucks. Intuit's products are terrible. They don't work, and their tech/customer support is idiotic. Won't be too long before they ruin Mint.

Now we have to find an alternative to the alternative to Quicken.

Well, it was a good run. So long Mint...

It will be interesting to see if the maintain two products or merge the best of the two products into one product. Hopefully this will mean more changes more frequently. I wonder what other changes in the market this will cause.

Default Boo!

Well, good for the Mint guys for making themselves some money. Bad for the Mint users, as this likely means Intuit is buying this thing just to kill it off, and force everyone over to their platform, which isn't nearly as good.

Hi Everyone,
Mint is not getting closed down. In fact, Mint.com as a product will have more influence on the Quicken products than the other way around.

We will be sharing more information shortly on how the team and products will be organized. I assure you that Mint will continue to exist.

Mr. Forth,
I would like to believe you, but Intuit has burned me in the past and I no longer trust them. I would imagine a great many of your current users are former intuit customers like me. We see the value in personal finance software and are willing to invest the time and the money to take advantage of such tools.

Intuit started out as such a great company. I actually met the founders at a local computer show in 1980. I was an intuit customer from 1980 until 2005. No more. The information and access to my accounts that I entrusted to Mint I do not care to give Intuit access to. I have closed my account with Mint and have reset the passwords to all of my accounts.

Good luck going forward. Although I wish it weren't so; I don't see how Mint can influence Intuit much. Just as in nearly every other purchase or merger the larger organization will assimilate the smaller. Slowly but surely Intuit's policies and greed will ruin the good name that Mint has built for itself.

So long and thanks for all the fish!

Yes, Intuit is a horrible company with some of the worst customer support I've ever encountered.

I'm a Mac user and they purposely break online banking for the Quicken application for prior versions whenever they feel like it; forcing you to upgrade to a new version. They also have a history of not being Mac friendly at all and in fact adding features and enhancements on the Windows side only.

Associating with them will bring Mint's brand down into the gutter.

This really is too bad. I have had unusual problems with Mint in the past couple of weeks, sorry to hear this is a harbinger of things to come.

Does anyone know anything about Yodlee? I really would like to find a similar alternative.

This is a real shame, its too bad I will lose my year of stored acct data. I will have to go back to yodlee, though I much preferred Mint's interface, and their iPhone app.

Damn, I knew it was too good to be true. Intuit will ruin Mint for sure.
