Hi,
I just searched for user added categories and it seems thats not an option for now. I have been dutifully labeling my transactions but I really think the "Auto" category could be expanded to something more inclusive like "Commute" for work travel. I would like to have my monthly subway pass categorized that way. and what about people who take a train every day!

I agree, I need a public transportation category. Thanks!

The closest thing we have right now would be creating a label. It would be great, however, if some of you folks could join us next Tuesday at 1pm PDT (product & yours truly will be out here looking for feedback).

I know this is an old thread, but I want to third the move for a commute category (in addition to a bar/alcohol category)

so how are people categorizing their commuting expenses? auto and then do a label? after just 2 days, love mint but that's the biggest shortcomming...

Right now, we include any commuting expenses (train pass, bus pass, etc.) in "parking". Yeah, it's not really the right label, but we know what it means. Only problem here is that it makes me wonder if Mint's "you vs. your city" comparisons are at all valid, since I assume others do the same type of false categorization.
I've been putting them under generic "Travel." It's not a good solution. Please add a Train or Commute category.
