Because the recent change in format eliminated the ability to export transactions from Mint to Excel by category and for various time periods, the service is not nearly as valuable to me. Is there anyway to do this (like we could prior to the new layout)?

I certainly second that vote....exporting to excel is a must

what's your justification for exporting to Excel? What special equiations or special data manipulation are you looking for? Just wondering.

I have no idea as to the previous layout, since I've not been using this all that long. However, I must say that when I last downloaded to excel via the export transactions button, I was shocked! All my Mint Names, rules, etc for renaming these were GONE!:mad::mad:

I'm not sure what you are talking about. Today you are able to export your transactions out of MINT as previously. At the bottom left corner of the transaction screen is an option to Export All XXX transactions. The file will include BOTH the original description and the revised description. It works very well.

I have two problems with the transactions.

1. If you split a transaction the splits do not export only the original transaction.
2. On the investment transactions not all of the information is provided like price per share and shares only total amount of transaction.

i was able to export just fine today, and with all my names and categories.

also, i'm not sure what i would do with this information in excel, right now, since they greatly improved the trends in mint.

a good reason to export?...

well the graphical display is nice and all but if I wanted to layout my spending for each category for multiple months, right now mint doesn't have a view for this.

I would have to download my transactions and set up a pivot table to view the data in a table form.

unless i'm missing something...
