How do I categorize a credit card payment out of my checking account as an actual "transfer" to a sepcific credit card account? Otherwise, it looks like real spending (which it isn't) and throws off all the graphs. Thanks!
Hey aluskuiuc,
Are you talking about the graph in "Spending Trends?" If so, transactions categorized as "Transfers" shouldn't be in these graphs.
Although you currently can't categorize credit card payments to specific credit card accounts, you can categorize them as "Credit Card Payment" so that Mint will know that it is not a spending expense.
To categorize payment transactions as "Credit Card Payment," select the transaction, click on "Categorize" and look for "Credit Card Payment" on the bottom right of the category list. It is under the "Transfer" field.
Hope this helps!

OK, so when a payment is made from my bank account to the Credit Card, it should be categorized as a Credit Card Payment.
How about on the other side, inside the Credit Card account? Should the received payment also be categorized as a Credit Card Payment, or just a Transfer?

there was a thread in the Yodlee forum that addressed this... long story short: categorize both as "credit card payment" (essentially these credits and debits should cancel each other out and they are really just transfers of money as opposed to spending.)
