...The entire sophisticated user base that has been using Yodlee for years will be LOATHE LOATHE LOATHE to re-input 30-40 accounts.

Do that, and do in an easy way that adds value on top of Yodlee, and you immediately get yourself an entire network of sophisticated evangelists.

...Paging product marketing...

Actually I reinput all of my accounts in about 5 minutes.

Maybe more specifically... getting the transaction history from there would be nice, since I have more history in yodlee than was provided to mint.

I agree. I can't justify signing up for Mint until it can import my existing Yodlee MoneyCenter account.

What exactly does this mean though? If someone can explain what is meant by "import my existing account" then maybe they might be able to work on it.

Importing accounts can encompass many different things. You want the transactions pulled over? Just the login information from your accounts?

If you can specify what you're looking for then at least it could be written up as an enhancement request.

I just noticed that Mint is a Yodlee client. Can anyone tell me how much of Yodlee's technology is used in the Mint offering?

See here: http://corporate.yodlee.com/customers/clients.htm

I think what others are referring to in the ability to import Yodlee transactions is that we want to be able to bring our transaction histories (in my case a few thousand) from Yodlee directly into Mint. Like Mint, Yodlee allows you to easily export these transactions into an Excel file. It would not seem that difficult an interface to build. If this funcationality existed, I can see lots of Yodlee folks like myself coming over. However, I am not excited about losing years of data and trends to convert at this point.

I just found mint.com myself. I've been a Yodlee user for several years now. I just gave mint a quick try with a few accounts, but it only imported a months worth from each. I'm interested in trying mints' interface and features, but if mint is basically just a client/user of yodlee's data, the FIRST thing mint should be doing is creating a very simple path to wear mints new face on my old yodlee data. I would have expected to see an option in registration that says "are you an existing yodlee user? Enter you login info here and we'll import all your settings and data. Mint is essentially just a different skin on yodlee's data. I really do not have the time to enter the 30-40 accounts again in mint or deal with the history-starts-today data, but I would be very excited to use mint if I had an easy upgrade path. As the original poster said, you've got a huge existing user base from yodlee that could just come over and try your service out. Don't make it hard for us to do so.

bump.

Anyone care about this? I would stop using Yodlee and start using Mint today exclusively if they would just import my yodlee settings and data. Come on guys, like you haven't thought about this by now? Don't you want an easy way to just re-skin Yodlee and get thousands of new users instantly?

I'm with you guys...give me some simplicity and let us import or use our yodlee login for all accounts within.
