What a terrible first experience. I finally decided to trust Mint.com with the login information for all my bank and credit card accounts, and they all failed.
Using a bulletin board instead of a real help link? That might be fine for a hobby site, but when you're storing personal financial data about your users, it's no way to build trust.
I see from looking at the boards that everyone is having problems due to the site gaining a lot of new members, but this is really something the company should have expected and been ready for.
I hope that Mint.com does get its act together, the concept sounds great, and the site looks excellent. This is not a good start, though.

I do apologize for the issues. We've had a big bump in traffic today because of the public beta launch. But I do need to remind folks that the product is still in beta & there's lots of folks here working long hours to make things better.
Note: The bulletin boards are used to answer FAQs & post updates about known issues. Our CRM tool is something that I will be working on this week. Many services, including financial services' companies, use them to notify community members of known issues.
I just posted this in the Mint Announcements area...
Due to overwhelming interest in Mint today we have experienced some temporary problems. We are adding capacity currently and anticipate returning to normal operation very soon. I will post an update when these capacity issues are resolved.
Again, I do apologize for all of the issues we've had during the beta period. I know people are frustrated & that there's many outstanding issues, including adding accounts with certain banks. We're working on these items as quickly as we can & I will post updates as they become available to me.

Thanks for the response. I hope the service does turn out to be reliable and trustworthy, because I'd be happy to use Mint.com if it ends up working as it's planned to.

I have to say I'm extremely impressed with what the website represents itself to be. I can see at once the simplicity and the complexity of it, and it's really cool to see that someone's set up a set of policies that make me really believe they have a handle on up-to-date security.
I imagine being Dugg helped boost a lot of traffic, because those people are smart enough to realize that this is a great service that's worth the risk of signing up, so yeah, a capacity upgrade may be in order. =^^= I'm tagging the thread so I'll get a message when the update comes. I'll be patient.

Thank you for your understanding! Yes, being Dugg & named winner at TechCrunch40 has killed us capacity wise (our folks are working extra late to try smooth things out). We were also named on a ton of other popular blogs as well.
Again, I apologize to everyone for the issues during both the public and private beta. Like many new sites, we can get hit with issues that we weren't entirely expecting.

Dear Sirs:
I am intrigued by your service, now in public beta, and am excited to add my accounts! In hopes that the cessation of my desire will be hastened by this offering, I provide (below) your staff full access to my Red Bull stash. Available too, though upon request, are trail mix, kashi crunch bars, and - if it will speed the fix of your capacity issues along - I shall make a 7-11 and/or Chinese take-out run.

Do enjoy, and congrats on your launch.

honestly I'm impressed with the extent of banks and services you have access to leaving beta, so take your time and when you're done you guys can have a cold one on me. I'm stoked to start using the service...

Red bull sounds good right about now. If only Chipotle was open 24 hours, my life would be complete.
I'll have the kung pao chicken.
