I agree, that would be great. I rarely enter cash transactions at my computer so I have a pretty poor record of how much I spend dining vs entertainment vs misc small purchases. I never blogged before I could do it from my phone, but now post items all the time. So I'm sure I'd post more cash transactions if I could do it at point-of-purchase (even while I wait in line just before purchase!).

Combined with an SMS alert feature triggered when spending in an account or category reaches a certain limit, this would be great.

Allowing multiple phones to add transactions would be so helpful, esp when ATM withdrawals are coming out of one bank account by multiple people. SMS alerts should go to all registered phones when a low balance alert is triggered so everyone knows to stop withdrawals from that account.

Should this get implemented I think it would important to have either a way to tag/label items entered from the phone or to setup and auto label for everything sent from the phone.

That way you're not hunting stuff down that you sent in via text.

Like I can see myself mistyping and then sending... only to realize I can't fix it now that it's gone so I'll just resend it.

It's easier to just go in later and search for everything I texted in and remove the errors, than the search on each specific transaction that I happen to remember I did wrong.

Hope that's making sense

this should be an option via email too, for those that use email on their phones...

Here's the description of a way this could work that I wrote:
