View Full Version : can tags be checked by default, or search on unchecked tags

i have a tag called "verified". i check it once i have made sure the transaction is in the right category.

is there a way to filter transactions to get only those that are not checked?

or can transactions have this tag checked by default, and i'll uncheck it when i verify it

does anyone else have a better method for keeping track of which transactions you've edited and which you haven't?

Currently there is no way to see all transactions that are NOT checked. On the transaction screen on the bottom right side is the list of tags. by clicking onthe tag you can see all transaction assigned that tag. THERE is NO way to see all transactions not assigned a tag. It would be simple to add to the list to see a NOT operator i would think.

what i did was add an "unverified" tag. each time i log into mint, i update all new transactions to this tag using the edit multiple feature. then i uncheck the tag in each transaction as i go along.

It seem insane that we must do work-arounds for such a basic operation like checking off verified transactions.

Why doesn't Mint.com add this function?

I posted about the "show untagged" filter before I found this thread. It would work.

It blows my mind how such a amazing system can have gaps like this...

There used to be a way do it under Trends this way, but it was taken out recently:

Trends >Filter by Tag tab > Click “Not Tagged” in table > Keep drilling down pie graph until you get to the transaction

I agree that the support for one of the following search strings in the Search Box is needed!
“tag:Not Tagged”
“tag:None”

I stumbled upon a solution to this problem this afternoon. Use the following search on the Transactions page: "-tag:verified". The "-" operator will show all transactions without the "verified" tag.

How about away of finding transactions that have not been tagged at all? i would like to be able to find transaction that have not been tagged. i also like the old way of being able to see tag totals over a certain time period. I'm a little upset that was removed. It was a nice feature.
