Cannot add 53 Bank account

My Fifth Third bank account cannot be added. It keeps getting stuck at the username and password check, although I can check to make sure that the username and password check out on the Fifth Third website.

Any ideas?

Here goes:


a) Name of bank

Fifth Third Bank
b) The URL you use to login to your bank (www.chase.com, for example).

www.53.com

c) The specific error messages you receive trying to add the account to your Mint account.

Could not connect
Mint cannot connect to your account right now:

Fifth Third Bank - Credit Cards may be down for maintenance
The connection may be too slow
Problems like these are usually resolved in 24 hours.


d) Information about extra security requirements your bank requires to login, such as image verification, captchas, additional security questions, etc.

I don't have any when I sign in.

e) If you don't have issues logging in to your bank accounts directly.

I do not.


I should point out that they are my bank and not my credit card company.

Also wanted to point out that it seems to be failing at the "downloading transactions" stage and not at the username and password check.

As these issues are generally fairly complex, I am sad to report that they will take some time to resolve. We also have to fix these issues based on how many particular folks from a particular bank are failing.

I also cannot add my 5/3 account, and I have the same error message as the individual who posted their error information above.

The only difference is that the URL I use to log in to 5/3's site is:

https://www.53.com/wps/portal/personal

Not simply http://www.53.com/

The card is a new 5/3 debit Mastercard, and I can log in at the 5/3 site without a problem--your access ID is your card number and your pass is usually your pin number.

I also would like to see this resolved as quickly as possible as my primary Bank of America credit card works great but I really need this account to start really getting into Mint's features (to help with the beta).

Is this just something where we should wait to hear from you in this thread, or should we just try from time to time? I just tried a few minutes ago with the same results as above. I don't know if you're working to have it fixed in the next couple of days or if you're expecting it to be a lot longer. I apologize in advance if these questions are addressed in the FAQ, in which case just tell me to RTF-FAQ. Thanks much.

I really appreciate this service and the time of those put in to get it working great. It really is awesome and just plain good. That being said, I am having problems with multiple fifth third accounts. I have a credit card and two checking accounts and it just keeps adding the credit card. What can I provide to help?

My credit card, checking and savings accounts are all through 5/3. When I add the account in Mint, only my credit card shows up. Is this related to this issue?

Having same issues in adding checking and savings fifth third accounts. My credit card account does add successfully, however.

Just a quick note to everyone in this thread. It appears that the problem with adding a 53 checking account has now been resolved!

You need to x out of whatever attempt you were making before, and start the Add a Bank process form scratch. It should now ask if you will be adding a 53 checking or credit card account--in my case checking.

One thing to note, it doesn't seem to be pulling in my available balance minus pending transactions. So I appear, according to the Mint website, to have about $200 more in my checking account than is actually there.

We made some changes to a number of banks recently, so folks should try to look at adding bank and credit card separately (even under one login). You might see options for 53 Bank and 53 Credit Cards, for example.

Still lots of work to do. I appreciate everyone's patience during the beta.

I've double and triple-checked the way I log in on the 5/3 site, and even with those credentials I can't add the account to add on Mint. Help!? My 5/3 cc added without a problem. Thanks in advance for any tips, tricks and advice.
