I just joined yesterday (YAY!).

When I created and downloaded account data for Wells Fargo, each account was duplicated 3 times... which means I show 3 checking accounts, 3 savings accounts.

The 3 checking accounts have identical transactions. The 3 savings accounts have identical transactions. I've 'hidden' 2 of the savings and 2 of the checking accounts, but is there a way to eliminate the duplicate ones?

We've seen this (on our own accounts!) and are looking in to it. Thanks for letting us know it's happening with yours too.

Same issue with Wells Fargo Credit Card accounts, I have 2x duplicated CC accounts. Even if I delete and re-add my Wells Fargo CC accounts the issue persists. Also all transactions are duplicated too.

I joined over a month ago and I'm having the same issue with my Wells Fargo CC account. It displays two accounts when I only have one.

I'm afraid to "hide" one because I'm not sure which one is the "real" CC account, and which one is the duplicate. Any suggestions?

Same issue here. It duplicated my Wells Fargo credit card today. One seems to have older transactions in it. I've hidden one for now.

Hope this is fixed soon!

I am experiencing the wells fargo duplicate cc accounts. My issue goes further though, I can't always modify the category or duplicate status. When I look at the transaction list and mark the duplicate box, it does not always take effect. I can go search that transaction and it may or may not have remained a duplicate, though it looks like it did change initially.

Also experiencing duplicate CC account for WF. One is older account. Also, neither has received new transactions for 2+ weeks though I'm sure I used it.

Same problem. Mint was showing two accounts when I only had one. Mint also hasn't updated my account transactions in over a month, even though I use my card everyday.

Happening here too. I actually deleted and re-added my account, and now it only has transactions that occurred up to 12/17/08. :(

Add one more user to the list of people being affected by this bug. What's the status of this issue? Can we expect a resolution soon? updates would be great.

You know, I tried deleting and re-adding as well. Now it also only shows transactions up to 12/17 (like the user above).

Add another Well Fargo dupe account person.

Hoping it gets resolved soon, or we at least get some sort of update as to what's going on. Mint is great, but even better if it works. :)

I also have duplicate Wells Fargo CC accounts. My Wells Fargo checking and savings accounts are not duplicated. I submitted a bug report over a week ago and received the "automated reply". The problem has not been resolved and I have received no further correspondence. And now my Wells Fargo CC accounts will not update at all. I simply receive the "try again later" message.

I, too, have the WF CC duplicated (not checking/savings). The Accounts page only shows one account though. It also give me the yellow caution sign on these duplicate accounts, saying "There is a problem right now. Try again later"

I don't want to delete either account because I would lose all the older transactions for last year, and from the looks of it, it doesn't help anyways.

Also, my CitiAuto loan always shows $0...

Mint, we don't expect these things to get fixed immediately, but please, please, please communicate that someone is looking at this and an ETA.

Yes, since this is a problem with Yodlee, I assume Mint only has so much control over the issue. Yodlee's work around is to merge the accounts. DO NOT try anything like this on Mint or you'll lose transactions, but Yodlee's steps are to:

In order to resolve the issue, Yodlee MoneyCenter has a feature by which you can reconcile and merge the duplicated accounts.

Please follow the steps given below to reconcile the duplicated accounts:

1. Log in to your Yodlee MoneyCenter account
2. Click on the “Accounts Overview” tab under Yodlee PersonalFinance
3. Click on one of the instances of the account that is duplicated
4. Click on the “edit account” link at the top-left of the next window that appears
5. Click on the “Reconcile Accounts” link at the bottom of the Account Related Actions box on the left of the next screen
6. Select the duplicate account and follow the prompts to reconcile the accounts

In case these steps do not work, please follow the steps below to delete either one of the accounts from your Yodlee MoneyCenter account:

1. Log in to your Yodlee MoneyCenter account
2. Click on the “Accounts Overview” tab under Yodlee PersonalFinance
3. Click on the account you would like to delete – this would open the transactions page
4. Click on the “edit account” link at the top-left
5. Click on the “Delete Account” link at the bottom of the next page that opens
6. Click on the Delete Account button at the bottom-right of the next page to permanently delete this account

Same as the above. Deleted duplicate Wells Fargo credit card accounts and re-entered the account information. One account now, but nothing has imported/updated since 12/18. An ETA or some added info would be nice!

Yes, same with my credit card account as well, though one of them is updating, and the *newer* one that just got added (with a higher account id, so I assume it's newer) is the one that doesn't have all the newest transactions. Which is weird.

My checking and IRA accounts at Wells Fargo aren't duplicated at all, so not sure what may be triggering this.

I'm also experiencing this problem. My Wells Fargo duplicate CC accounts also have different balances - it looks like one may be updating and the others not.

This is what I got in response:
Dear Phil,

Thank you for contacting Mint.com.

Some customers may have issues with duplicate accounts appearing on their overview and accounts' page. They key reasons this happens:

1. Customer mistakenly added the account twice.
2. The customer recently changed something at their bank's site, such as changing account numbers or the nickname on the account. If you would like to exclude the duplicate -without entirely deleting the account, you can use the directions below to mark the account hidden or closed.

Please do the following to exclude certain accounts in your profile:

1. Login to your Mint account.
2. Click on the “Accounts” tab.
3. Locate the account(s) you want to make a change to.
4. Click on the edit button to make changes.
5. Use the dropdown box on the left to mark the account active, hidden or closed.
6. Press Save.

I disagreed with the key reasons since we all started getting this at the same time, so I've replied:

Jezreel,

Given that a large number of us users (according to the forums: http://forums.mint.com/showthread.php?t=5901&page=1) started experiencing this issue at once, starting at the same time, I highly suspect this has nothing to do with user error. Also, I haven't logging into my account to change anything for a very long time.

Furthermore, this issue also happened at the same time in my Yodlee account. My guess is that WellsFargo changed something on their side, and Mint took this as a different account.

I believe there is a large problem with your solution: the currently updating account has a VERY small subset of my transactions, but has all of the balance. In other words, if I hide or close my old Wells Fargo account, I will lose all of the transaction data and my budgets etc will be out of sync. The only thing this will fix is my overall credit card balance. Am I correct? What we need is MERGE functionality, like they have in Yodlee. The steps Yodlee outlines is:

Does Mint have anything like this?

Thanks!
Phil

Valued Minters,

We have known this issue and we will address the issue asap.

As getting back to individual customers is difficult, and the issue may be affecting more than one customer, please keep an eye on the Mint Announcements section of our forum for regular updates.

I asked support about this a long time ago and got this automated response today:

Thank you for contacting Mint.com.

You may use the Update button available on the accounts' page however if the issue still persists please provide us the necessary information to resolve the issue.

This is really bad service. I know that Mint is free, but don't email us telling us that it's a user error, especially when several people have this problem.

I'm still having this issue with a duplicate Wells Fargo credit card account showing up in Mint. If you are also having this problem and not getting much response from Mint.com I recommend jumping over to Get Satisfaction (http://getsatisfaction.com/mint/topics/wells_fargo_duplicate_cc_accounts) and joining the conversation there. The customer support on Get Satisfaction has been much better. Still no word on a resolution. However, my post was answered almost immediately unlike here where responses either don't come at all or take weeks.

I too had this issue when signing up for my Wells Fargo cards. I marked the duplicate as "hidden" and assumed it was a bug that would eventually be resolved.

I logged in today (haven't logged in for a few days) and noticed that my Wells Fargo credit cards were not showing! I panicked for a second, and went into the account details section. My credit card accounts were there, but only the ones that had been marked "hidden".

So, I marked them active, and now I show only 1 account per actual account!

I don't know if the problem is related, but I had a duplicate account problem with Wells Fargo. This was fixed after the 2/5 patch, but now my accounts have stopped updating transactions. The account total on the overview page is still correct though.
