Let's say I get $100 from the ATM. $50 is spent on dining, the other $50 on groceries. I can I show that in Mint?

The easiest option would be to label the transaction/add a note to it (see reviewing/categorizing transactions in the forums for more info).
Note: I realize it may not be what you want 100% right now. But it should help you identify/classify aspects of your finances better.

Sorry, not having true split categories is a deal breaker for me. When I go grocery shopping, I pay with my debit card and I get cash out. This is my main way to get cash. I need to be able to split the transaction so I can divert $60 of a $80 "purchase" to a cash account (of course this assumes cash accounts exist).

I'm pretty sure in another thread it's mentioned that splits are in the works, although I don't remember the thread name at the moment.

Splits are something we're definitely looking at supporting.

Splits are absolutely crucial. I hope they are supported in the future.

Definitely a high priority item for us to look at supporting. Thanks for the community feedback about what we can do to improve transactions!

Just throwing in my vote for splits. Highly important; I'm glad Mint will support it.

I use cash-back as my main source of cash. Split transactions are a must for me. (Bonus points if you can figure out how to auto-detect cash-back)
I have already switched from being an all cash buyer to using a credit card just because of this site. Hopefully you can show some love in return.

We should probably have a solution in November for splits:)

So, yes, we need splits. I get cash at the market all the time and so currently it looks like I spend 800 bucks a month on food...
However, beyond that, we need a way to add our own transactions. When I get cash out, it isn't enough to simply see that I made $600 worth of ATM withdrawals. The point is to know what I did with that cash once I had it. Did I spend half of it on coffee in the morning? Do I have a gum buying problem that I need to get under control? I don't know... because I can't log into Mint and enter in all my receipts and cash transactions.
Getting an accurate view of how I use my cash is just as important as an accurate view of how I use my ccards and checking account.
Thanks,
Colly
