So, many of you have been majorly confused trying to get your Charter One or Citizens Bank account to work through mint (checking/savings/credit cards).
I'm going to explain how it works, nice and simple.

CH 1: Checking/Savings
CH 2: Credit Cards
CH 3: Troubleshooting
CH 1:Checking/Savings:
Get your security info from the normal charteroneonline.com (http://charteroneonline.com) . You need to log in to your account, and go to the customer service section. There is an option there that says "Change your security information".
No matter which of the above you have, in Mint you are going to add it through Charter One Bank (with the moneybag symbol). It will show up when you search as charteroneonline.com in Mint's add account search.
While you have that page open, go to the window you have with mint. Enter it all into the charter one - bank link through mint. Make sure you pick the correct 3 matching questions with correct 3 answers. You're done!
CH 2:Credit Cards through Charter/RBSNB/Citizens:
Log in through http://www.rbsnb.com/ No matter which one you have your credit card with. Go to "Profile/Alerts" once you're logged in. You will notice a security question again, same as with banking/checking.
Now go to Mint, and add an account under RBS (add account search - just put in RBS and it will be the only search result). Make sure you copy the proper security question and answer into Mint. You're done!
If any of you have questions, just PM me. Note that the credit card doesn't time out like the checking/savings do.
CH 3:Troubleshooting, tips, tricks:
Unable to Update/Connection Times out: Sometimes, Mint will time out checking the charter one account. Specifically it will hang on "Establishing Secure Connection" or "Authenticating". At this point, it will fail to update your account. In these instances the only way to speed it up is to re-enter all of the information again after it times out. At this point Mint will say "try again" and ask for ALL of the information that you entered when you added the account again). Additional note: If you hit "try again" and don't put in the information, Mint will still remember the info and check later for you (and will probably time out again anyway). Sometimes it will just time out anyway, and you won't be able to connect. Usually if you wait 20mins to an hour, it works again. If it doesn't appear to be updating (but still trying to connect): Be patient! I've had Charter's accounts take up to 10 minutes to update sometimes, as annoying as that is. It will "time out" if that's what's going on (see above).
Transaction issues:
Since this will be your first time with Mint probably, a ton of things will be miscategorized. Notably Debit transactions all show up wrong. You will see such things as "Point Of Sale Debit XYZ location" (XYZ being where you actually went) or "Master Money Purchase XYZ" (Master Money Purchase WWW.NEWEGG.COM 800-390-1119 CA) for an example and Mint just sees it as the part without the XYZ. Since I haven't categorized this transaction it shows up as "Master" for the transaction name and "Home improvement" for the category. So you need to be careful how you categorize these/what rules you make to label them or suddenly 80% of your transactions will show up under 1 category.. Also, it categorizes transfers from checking and/or to savings wrong, and obviously you need to categorize checks yourself. You will probably be spending some time comparing with charterone and mint for the first few times, in order to match up descriptions with transactions for Mint. (as they dont' line up chronologically).
Note to mint devs: it seems to be about every 3 weeks to a month after the information is entered before it happens again, and then I enter it again, and then we're good. Being logged on to the account via charter's website at the same time or not seems to not affect the issue at all. Oh, and you're welcome :D
update: there have been issues with charter and Mint lately, which are not related to the above.
