This app is AMAZING, but it should have a password required to log in. Basically just like "1password". But overall... great app!!!

If a password screen is implemented - please make it optional, not mandatory - I use the password lock on the iphone and don't want to be bothered with a 2nd passcode to enter the mint applicaiton - too much effort!

PLEASE implement a password lock screen! Just like ncsmith4 said above, 1Password has this down perfect it even auto locks after a user set interval. Having that functionality in the Mint app would great!

I personally don't like using the passcode lock for my iPhone as suggested, but a password lock on individual apps is a great solution since I'm not opening the app 30+ times a day like I do with my phone.

Agree with all 3 posters here. PIN entry a-la 1Password would be welcomed.

Also would love to see a password screen (even if just a simple pin code - preferably just a simple pin code actually).

Logging into my iphone is one thing, but often I hand it to others to browse the web, etc... and just because I trust them not to send emails in my name or listen to my voicemail doesn't mean I want them to have access to my entire financial world.

Besides missing pin code, excellent app. Well done!

What do you need a password screen for - just click the 'logout' button - that's your password screen right there!

If that's the case, then please 'remember' my username so I dont have to enter it everytime i logout. Better yet, implement an optional PIN that, if set, is required at startup..?

Hi all, just want to second the need for a dedicated password screen from within the Mint app. Just yesterday I was showing my bro-in-law different iPhone apps and I had to hand the phone off to him. I do use the iPhone's main password screen on the unlock screen but in this case that wouldn't help. I just had to hope he didn't click on the Mint app. The logout feature is too inconvenient to use regularly. I guess for now that's all we can do but it seems like a fairly simple feature request since so many of my other finance related apps have it. Unfortunately the best feature of the app, a great snap shot look at your financial standings at the launch screen of the app, is the very thing I don't want others to have access to. In an instant anyone can see exactly where you stand in the personal finance world. Very dangerous information that can't be unprocessed once you've seen it.

Other than that I love this damn app and can't wait to see the features built out. Majorly rooting for transaction categorizing up in here. Great job guys!

Yes please. A password function like SplashID would be perfect. I like that I can protect the apps I need protecting but still allow other people to play games, etc. on my phone.

I have deleted Mint until this is added.

Because in my case, I use 1Password (http://agilewebsolutions.com/products/1Password) for all my passwords. Therefore my Mint.com password looks something like this:
dE&jLf>(nIOZ4NMAgsTpoDwWKQv5)rqURHimCeclV

Try remembering that.

I just want to concur with what others are saying with respect to restricting access to the Mint App.

Having an iphone means everyone who doesn't wants to check out your phone. Since I don't want to be a jerk, I usually oblige.

However, the other day a friend of mine was checking out my iphone and clicked on the Mint App to see what it was. Now she knows my entire financial situation. SO LAME!

Logging out of the Mint App every time you close it is time-consuming and cumbersome. There are better ways to restrict access, and similar apps are already doing this (see PageOnce and eWallet).

A 4-digit PIN, similar to the "unlock feature" on the iphone, would be the quickest and best way to implement a little control over who sees our finances.

Respectfully,
Jeremy

Simple password for this application. I think reasons have been well outlined.

I agree. I think some form of authentication for this app (other than logging in over and over) is necessary. 4-digit PINs work really well. I love using them; easy, secure, and personal to me.

I don't have a Mac so I use KeePass for my passwords -- they're impossible to remember (like another member posted in this thread earlier) -- mine usually look something like this:

3S)}^@'+5Y3GOa0m%)C2Uu_#c#}]w!#.d'b+CRX.`y(9?n,TJ?

Difficult to remember -- would be nice to just type it once then type a 4-digit PIN every time after that.

Just a note... if you have a jailbroken phone you can set a password to any or all of your Apps with Lockdown from Cydia.

Seriously, can the developers please acknowledge the desire for this feature. It would obviously be welcomed. If it's in the works please let us know and if it's not, let us know that too. So many apps already have this and its great! Air Sharing, SplashID, and 1Password just to name a few (shown below). Maybe I'm wrong but it seems like a pretty simple addition for such an essential feature. I don't want to enable the iPhone passcode so that I'm unlocking the phone with a passcode 30+ times a day. I just want a passcode for Mint for the one time a day I open Mint.
