When I delete my alerts on the overview page, they delete fine. But if I log out of Mint and log back in, the alerts show up again. Is there a way to have the alerts "permanently" deleted so that they don't keep reappearing?

Can you send me the exact steps you did to remove it, the browser info & the approximate time you did it?

Does clearing your cache/cookies help at all? I know that old information can sometimes "hang" in a browser.

On Mint's Overview page, I click the "x" next to the alert to remove it. I was using Firefox 2.0.0.6 on Mac OSX 10.4.10 and I've been deleting them every time I log for the past couple of days, so I can't really give a time.

I haven't tried clearing the cookies, but I'll give that a shot and let you know how it works. Thanks!

Hmmm, ok so here's what I did.

I logged on to Mint and checked the overview page and the alerts were there. So I cleared all of the cookies (still Firefox 2.0.0.6 on Mac OSX 10.4.10) and then logged into Mint and deleted the alerts on the overview page.

I then deleted the cookies again (there were only Mint cookies this time.. heh, mint cookies) and logged back in and voila! no alerts.

But! (you knew there was a but) I then went to the accounts page, updated two of them (since deleting the cookies seemed to delete the recent update of those accounts?) and went back to the overview page and the alerts were back!

My theory is that they magically reappear (ok, well not magically, and I know they have a good reason to be there) when you update an account, since Mint probably re-calculates spending trends when you do.

Mine has been doing this too... and I have a feeling it has to do with the account updating like you said.

I didn't delete all my alerts, although one of them was back this morning that I had deleted. Then later after I had manually updated the accounts the third one I had deleted showed up again.

I'll try to keep closer track of it and see exactly when it's occurring. I usually try to test everything on firefox 2, safari 2, and IE 6 and it happened the same way in all of them for me so far.

Is this still happening?

I think I am going to have to create a "report a possible bug" forum. I think it would be much easier to track these issues.

I think a general "bug" forum would be a good idea. That way we're not trying to categorize them under specific features and getting them mixed in with general questions and comments.

If there's more detailed info you still want/need please let us know. It's still happening for me so I can probably get some info.

Just to update you...

I had deleted all my alerts, and they are now back. However...

After I deleted the alerts I did a manual update of my Bank of America account, and those are the only alerts that are back. (I had some others that have stayed deleted)

So I think it just recalculates them each time you update.

This issue should be resolved early next week (check the Mint Announcements forum).
