ING currently causes the Mint system some problems when you try to add the account. The information below *might* help you add the information to your Mint account (still might have issues, however).

To get ING to possibly work:

Go to www.ingdirect.com (http://www.ingdirect.com/) <http://www.ingdirect.com/ (http://www.ingdirect.com/)> and login

Go to the "My Info" tab

Under "Login Options" at the bottom, click "Change"

Look at the answers to your security questions. You need to answer
those questions identically on Mint.

Notes:
Answers may be case sensitive
You should leave the answer to all other security questions blank. Only answer the ones listed at ING | My Info | Login Options

I use ING just fine. The trick is to answer about 5 or 6 questions on the ING side and leave the rest blank. Then enter the data for those 5 or 6 same questions on the mint side. Leave the rest blank here as well.

Of course, all the questions about birthdate, soc, etc. need to be entered on the mint side always.

I got my ING account working yesterday. Today, I logged in to Mint and it was gone. The strange part is, it still *knew* about the ING account because I had a low balance warning. Please work on this! (I know it's a beta...)

I just got off the phone w/ ING Direct asking about their "take" on Yodlee (Mint), etc. The lady I talked to claimed that it shouldn't be possible for aggragators to log in, though it obviously is, judging from the posts here.

She said that ING had recently changed the PIN input process to use dynamic images making it difficult for a non-human to log in. Any thoughts on this?

Also, I'm still a little wary in giving all of my account login information to a 3rd party. Does anybody know what happens to the information stored by Yodlee when that particular account is deleted from Mint. Does that login data get deleted from Yodlee as well?

I am trying to get clarification on the issues you mentioned & will post back when I know the answer(s). I would also recommend reviewing the sections in the forums about your privacy & security.

I've been using Yodlee for over a year now, and it is great. The staff is friendly, and as stated in another thread here, they are a leader in making sure that your information is secure. If the admin in here doesn't mind me mentioning it, hop on over to the forums at Yodlee and get to know some of them. http://forum.yodlee.com

The SVP and VP of Product Management are regulars there. In fact, Peter, the SVP was a regular on the Fat Wallet Forums for Yodlee before he started the board on Yodlee. And it is easy to use, ran on the same vBulletin as this forum. :D

Does anyone know whether it is possible, now, November 2007 to add ING Direct Electric Orange accounts? I've tried many times using the suggestions in thread and have gotten no where.

Mine seems to work the first time I add it but subsequent visits back to the site show that it doesn't hold the details and can't login again.

Did they change anything on their site recently? If so, that could screw things up for a few days (our provider has to catch up to these changes).

I'm not sure. I only set up my ING Electric Orange account a few days ago. On the Mint side, I've entered my personal information, e.g., SSN, birth date, etc., AND have entered the answers to the security questions that I selected on the ING side. I've been careful about making sure I enter the answers exactly the same way, but no luck.

I've been using Mint for maybe 2 months now and my ING savings never seems to work. Each time I enter it seems to fail on subsequent visits.

Today, for the first time, I was able to log on to my Electric Orange account using Mint. I didn't do anything different this time, it just worked. Perhaps it was magic.;) Perhaps the Mint developers did something in the background.

Now I'll keep my fingers crossed that it continues to work. I was getting discouraged.

Any news on this current status? I followed mint's instructions and answered all of my questions, but i could not add my ING direct account.

I've been using ING Direct with Mint for a few months, and I had no troubles adding the account. Just login to INGDirect, go to the My Info tab, go to Login settings to get all the answers, and then come back here and fill those answers in. There's a lot of possible questions, so leave the ones you don't use blank on Mint. Also, if you want, you can fill out even more questions on ING (up to 10) and then put the corresponding answers here as well. This increases the odds that a wrong answer won't break the login process, although it can still happen so double check those answers. Capitalization and spelling matters.

For your PIN, enter the number. Their login makes you enter letters which change every time, but Mint needs the number itself. ING also uses that image verification thing, but that doesn't apply to Mint.

Anyway, it works fine. If it fails, you missed a question somewhere or did something else wrong.

Success! I did the exact same thing yesterday that I had done previously this week, and this time it worked. Very pleased.

After trying everything I've read many, many times, what finally worked for me was logging in at home.ingdirect.com and seeing what four letters it wanted to assign to my PIN, then entering those letters as the PIN here at Mint.com (along with my security questions, of course).

This worked for three or four updates (all within about an hour), but not at all since.

Over the phone, ING told me that no one should be able to successfully connect mint with their ING account. That no matter what financial program we use, the only ING feature we can expect to work is downloading transactions and then importing that data into a program like Quicken.

The person I talked with at ING also said she had never heard of Mint.

At this point, I'm more than happy to jump to a new online bank. Any comparable suggestions?
