Good Afternoon,
I am getting duplicate transactions from my Wachovia Checking account that show up in my Savings and Way2Save accounts. Example:
When my direct deposit paycheck got deposited into my checking account on Friday, Mint added it to my checking, savings and way2save accounts from wachovia, as well as all other transactions and history. This is a major problem that happened twice before. Both times, I deleted all account history (major pain in the butt) and re-added, which seemed to fix it for about a week.
This is a make-or-break for me, because I love the online ease of mint, but if I have to keep entering my transaction categories and go through 3 months of history every two weeks, I would rather use a more stable platform.
Is there any known fix for this issue?
Hello,
I am filing a bug report for the issue now. For others, who are experiencing the same, please contact our email support at https://wwws.mint.com/contact.event#contact-form/ so that your issue will be addressed personally.
And while the issue is under debugging, you may do the ff:
1. Locate the transaction that is a duplicate on the transactions' tab.
2. Click on the box before the Transaction Date .
3. then Click on Edit Details, drop down box will appear
4. Click on Check box "This is a duplicate"
5. Then "I'm Done" to save the changes.
Important note: To distinguish a duplicate tagged transactions, this will be categorized as "Duplicate". To revert it back just do the same steps but this time Uncheck "This is a duplicate" then "I'm Done" to save the changes.
Note: This feature currently only supports marking duplicates one at a time. In addition, marking a transaction as a duplicate will not change your account balance.
Additional Note: We do a great deal of back end work to minimize duplicates. Issues like how banks record transactions, however, are beyond our control.
Thank you,

Wachovia accounts are all copied and duplicated into savings and checking accounts. I did file a bug report; I don't feel like being as ambitious as you and deleting everything, though. Hopefully this gets fixed soon.

If you delete the accounts and then re-add them, the issue is no longer there, making me assume it's an issue with Mint and not Wachovia, since the account data is not duplicated when it is brought into a clean account in Mint. The problem, however, is that I have lost all of my historical information twice now, and it's a real bummer.
I am now going through the process of setting up categories again and renaming everything. I am hoping this is the last time it gets duped, and that the problem gets fixed, or else I'll have to abandon Mint for a while. The thought of re-doing my account info again gives me nightmares.
I also have been having some lagging pending transactions show up with Wachovia, but after searching the forums, it seems to be a common problem with Wachovia and Mint. Maybe the Mint developers are Bank of America fans? Oh well, hopefully everything will straighten out soon.

My Wachovia accounts are fine. I haven't had a duplicate in a while. The last time I had a duplicate, I did something similar to what Aysa said above and they haven't appeared since.
Now as for the pending transactions, I don't know if that is a Mint issue. Over the past several months, I've noticed that Wachovia has been making all my recent transactions delayed and are labeling them as "processing" on Wachovia's website. This even messes up my balances. Before this happened, my transactions used to be instantaneous but now I'm getting weird delayed balances. Wachovia even now labels our balances with one or two asterisks that direct you to fine print messages. New deposits or recent withdrawals now seem to take forever with Wachovia. They are delayed by at least 1 to 2 days for me. I think this delay is just spreading into Mint adding to the frustration.

That's not happening on my wachovia account. My transactions, at most, will be pending in wachovia for 24 hours, and that's if it's a retailer or transaction I haven't recently used. I almost never have outstanding "processing" messages on wachovia, but they almost always last 5-7 days in mint.
As for the suggestion on duplicates above, that's fine for one or two transactions, but when the entire register of over 150 transactions gets copied from checking to savings and way2save, it's a bit much. Especially when it happens, it's manually corrected, happens again, account is deleted and re added, and happens again. I'd say the problem is most definitely Mint's. I have no duplicates in Wachovia online banking at all, nor have I ever had a problem with the Wachovia online website, or my Quicken 2007 downloads from Wachovia over the past 2 years.
