If you're having an issue adding accounts, please use our contact form (http://mint.com/contact.html). This is information that would be helpful for me:
Bank Name
URL you use to login to the bank
If the bank requires additional login information (challenge questions, etc.).As I am filing bugs for these, I will most certainly make a solid attempt to post when it is resolved here and/or email folks that have had issues. I am filing the forums' url with the bug so I can come back to the post at a later time.

I'm having problems adding HouseHold Bank & Commerce Bank.
Keep getting incorrect password even though I have logged on multiple times today using the same credentials.
URLS

Commerce ===> www.commerceonline.com
HHB ==> www.householdbank.com
Yes they do prompt with safety questions when you logon from time to time.

Hey guys, I'm having a similar problem with Huntington Bank (http://www.huntington.com). I try to setup my bank account in the system, it trys to login then says that the password is incorrect. I triple-checked to be sure it wasn't just me. :p

Huntington does use security questions when you try to login from a different IP or computer than you typically do. I imagine this might be causing the problem?

Thanks for the invite!

I actually sent an email this morning about this, but maybe didn't provide enough information.

Mint asks for my PIN, user number, and "question 1 answer." I am not sure what "question 1" is supposed to be, but no matter what I type there, including the answers to any of the three security questions, I am told that I cannot access the account through Mint because SECU requires additional security.

When logging onto my SECU online account directly from their website, I provide my account number and PIN, and am then taken to another page where I am asked three security questions. I believe that when I set up this online security, there was a whole list of questions that I could choose from, so other people may not have these same questions. But mine are:

-favorite band?
-favorite food?
-favorite book?

Damon

Hmmm..so the site asks three questions (your bank) & we only have one on the site?

sharkycharming
08-31-2007, 12:23 PM
Yup -- and Mint's interface doesn't even ask me the specific question, it just says, "Answer to question 1." I am not sure what "question 1" is supposed to be since the bank doesn't use that particular term at all.

Woodforest National Bank --> https://online.woodforest.com/WNB/Login.aspx

They do ask a security question. When you register, you can choose 3 different questions from a list of pre-determined challenge questions. Upon logging in, you're asked one of the 3 questions. It's usually a different one from login to login.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do to assist.

I'd like to add https://www.partnercardservices.com. That's the entry point for the partner cards (such as Best Buy Rewards Zone MasterCard) that Household Bank offers. For whatever reason, it is a separate, though nearly identical in format, system that requires logins at different domains. Same bank though.

I'm having trouble adding First Citizens (NC). I use my usual customer id and password and it states it is invalid. FC uses security questions. I remember setting these up when I first started using online banking but cannot remember which three I chose (as your site reflects, there are several to choose from).

As an added note, this bank is also in VA, not just NC. It took me a while to figure out this was my bank...

I'm having the same problem with ING. There are security questions I used during ING setup process. I do not recall which questions they were.

I'm guessing in both of these situations I need to remember which security questions I chose and the answers.

Thanks!

I have a credit card with First National Bank of Omaha. I attempted to add the account, but it wants me to select 3 security questions as well as their answers. The problem is that none of the security questions I chose on its site are available in the dropdown list on your site. Do you just use a generic list or are they providing bogus questions?

I've tried several times over the past couple of days, but can not seem to get into the Northwest Savings Bank account. They changed their site/setup about one month ago so maybe that is the reason. They now asked security questions: one random one at each login.

I'm also experiencing the same issue with Chase (bank, however, access from www.chase.com.) It will get to the point of downloading transactions, and then error out with the standard "connection too slow" etc. The connection is working fine going directly to chase however, and I am performing the actions on the computer that I am authorized on from the bank.

Please let me know if you need any further information to help your investigation!

Hi Folks,

I just wanted to advise that Chase recenly made changes to their site & that may be affecting your ability to add it to Mint (note: the information is from a blog so a little discretion is advised)

See link: http://consumerist.com/consumer/chase/-298218.php

MSUFCU uses multuple security questions. Users can choose varying questions from a list, but they have to choose at least 3. Once they do that, they are numbered.

The current account add options on Mint only allow 1 answer.

I've emailed MSUFCU to see if there's something they can do.

Love the site, hope you can help me out.

Zions Bank

http://www.zionsbank.com/

Log in with account # or social ssn.

If it's a new computer you are accessing the site with it will ask to verify one of your security questions. I forget how many there are.

It THEN asks for your account password.

Before you could attempt to login and it would go through the steps and then fail. Now it fails instantly. They may have blocked your IP.

Let me know of an ETA.

I'm having no luck with:

Advanta BusinessCard
http://www.advanta.com
Seems to ask security question if you're coming from a new IP, but I'm using mint.com from the machine I use to log in directly and it doesn't ask for a security question.

National City
https://www.nationalcitycardservicesonline.com/
Same deal as Advanta. Might ask a security question if from a new IP, but I'm on a box that's logged in before.

Note that www.nationalcity.com has three login options (banking, credit card, mortgage), so going directly to www.nationalcitycardservicesonline.com would be the better option for trying to log into the credit card site directly.

having trouble adding these accounts

bankofamerica.com (http://bankofamerica.com)
requires username, password & image verification. Also, I believe you have to authorize your computer to access the site or in addition to the above, they'll ask you security questions.

citibank credit cards - accessed via citicards.com (http://citicards.com)
requires only username and pwd

target visa card - site rcam.target.com (http://rcam.target.com)
username/pwd is all that is required.

Haven't tried with others yet.

edited to add: Citibank worked for me just a few moments ago. Yay! So did Bank of America now. Thanks!

I did also try ING direct (ingdirect.com (http://ingdirect.com))- however, the form asks just about every security question ING has... I believe they require you to select a few to provide answers for, and it's impossible to remember which ones I chose to answer at signup. It would be great if we could just answer two of the questions we actually provided answers for, like ING requires.

Edit: Scratch that. The only account it did add was my CompUSA credit card (shame on me, I know). The Banco Popular didn't add. Why? Now I noticed that you guys have Banco Popular North America, I use Banco Popular Puerto Rico. I tried logging into the North American site using my normal info and it didn't work. Perhaps adding my bank branch would be nice, you know, the Puertorrican branches of the Puertorrican bank?

Hi, I was very excited to start adding accounts but disappointed when most of them did not work. I know it's beta so I'll be patient... anyway here's the list:

Name: City Bank (TX)
On list?: YES
URL: www.citybankonline.com (however this url redirects to a secure page)
Other info: periodically asks challenge questions and requires challenge answers (site relatively recently redesigned...do you like my alliteration?)

Name: Citi Credit Card
On list?: yes BUT seems to be the wrong url
URL: www.citicards.com (however this url redirects to a secure page)
Other info: I do not believe any other info is required for login.

Name: Alliance Federal Credit Union
On list?: NO
URL: www.mycreditunion.net
Other info: I'm not sure if I've ever been asked any challenge questions but I do not think so.

Name: Capital One Credit Cards
On list?: yes BUT must click a button to get to login screen which directs to:
URL: https://service.capitalone.com/oas/login.do?objectclicked=LoginSplash
Other info: Do not think it needs challenge questions

Hey there's GOOD NEWS though! MY CHASE ACCOUNT WORKED!!!! :D(The only one, in fact, that did...):(

UPDATE: My Citi Credit Card worked finally! I just kept trying over and over and over again and it finally went through. Maybe this is the key with all of the accounts?

UPDATE #2: All of my accounts except for City Bank (TX) and Alliance Federal Credit Union have loaded. It has been fun seeing some of the features Mint has to offer, but I can't wait to add my checking account! For everyone out there having issues, my best suggestion is try, try again.

Several people have already mentioned this problem, but I'll add my name to the list.

Commerce Bank (www.commerceonline.com) requires a security "challenge" question (e.g. What city were you born in) at login every time, and the question cycles through several different ones.

Right now, I'm using Mvelopes to manage my money, and they allow me to get into the Commerce accounts, though I have to answer the question every time I use it.

At the minimum, Mint will have to make it possible to get into my accounts with the challenge question. What would kick Mvelopes' butt would be if I could store all the answers so that I didn't have to enter them every time I use Mint.

Thanks - very excited about Mint!

I've tried repeatedly today to add citizens bank and citibank accounts to my Mint account, but they both only get to the "Establishing Secure Connection" stage, stay there for quite some time, and then report that they've failed.

I've tested my logins in their respective online banking tools and they work.

Perhaps this is just do to load on the server?

EDIT: I forgot to mention, citizens ask a security question and has a CAPTCHA, citibank has neither of these features.

Notably it also asks what state your account is in - mine is in Washington, and I know that WA, OR, and ID used a separate system up until now - could this be tripping Mint up?

I'm having similar problems. I have dried adding 6 different accounts, with and without challenge questions:

-Commerce Online
-ING
-Wachovia
-CapitalOne
-Juniper
-HSBC Household retail services

All ask for my info and hang for several minutes before failing with the simple message "mint ran into an error while adding your account" All hang on the "establishing a secure connection" phase

As a first time user, this is a very bad expierence, but I'm happy to stick it out because I want to see what Mint has (and will have in the future) to offer and may even be willing to become a paying customer if after leaving beta mint becomes payware.

I have 2 accounts at Bank of America (in Texas). Login process is as follows:

Main page asks for username and the State your account is in.

Next, you see your SiteKey and are asked for your pw. Also have the option to "remember this computer". I had the "Security Key" option enabled (where it text messages you a code you must enter to login), but I disabled it so I could try out mint, and it still doesn't work. It just hangs at "establishing a secure connection" and throws an error after a couple of minutes.
--------

Secondly, my credit union, "Associated Credit Union of Texas" www.acutx.org , is not available as a financial institution. They use a simple account number / password login on their main page, so I wouldn't think it would be a big deal to support them. They have the option to export your transaction data into quicken, excel, etc.

Thanks for your time.

Hey, mint is looking great so far, nice work!
Unfortunately, I can't log into my primary bank (Dollar Bank) :(

mint gets stuck trying to log on, and it seems as if it's because it is unable to provide an answer for the challenge questions that need to be answered to log in. Dollar Bank required that you provide an answer to one of three possible security questions in order to log in.

Also, a possible problem that I just ran into is that Dollar Bank seems to require that you first visit this page (https://online.dollarbank.com/), hit continue, then log in. It doesn't work if you just try and visit the login page, or even if you try to reload the page by enter the URL and pressing enter again.

Anyways, mint is still looking great! I've been looking for a secure, easy to use, and useful money managing application for a long time, and I'm happy to have finally found it!

Amtrust Direct Bank

Normally, I am not asked a security question to log in, but it may be possible that a security question is prompted if the connection comes from a different than usual IP block.

Log in at - http://www.amtrustdirect.com/ this appears to redirect you to a page at https://global1.onlinebank.com/ when you try to log in.

Whenever I try to log in using Mint, the login fails (says Could Not Connect), Amtrust will lock my account out for 20 minutes from regular web access (I can log in to my bank directly after 20 minutes). This is reproducible.

"The account that you are trying to access is currently unavailable. Please wait 20 minutes and try again. (3000-90052)"

Renasant bank first asks for the User ID.

After clicking continue, you get a page asking for you to identify a security picture and custom phrase.
The Security picture is chosen upon account setup, and the security phrase is something that the account holder types in under, or to be associated with, said picture.

Also, on the same screen you are asked TWO security questions.

After the security questions is a checkbox that reads as follows:
"Register your computer (optional). With your permission, we can automatically register this computer as a location that is authorized to access your account information. When we recognize a computer that is registered to you, you'll be able to sign on quickly without confirmation questions. Please remember: You can register more than one computer, but we don't recommend registering public computers."

After clicking continue, you're asked for your password.

The "Register your computer" step seems to be controlled by a cookie. If the cookie is present, the site skips the security questions and displays your 'security picture' and 'phrase' for you to identify & then just asks for your current password.

The 'security picture' and 'security phrase' seem to be just an anti-phishing system, and is NOT required for login.

Oh yeah, the other required info:

Login URL: http://www.renasant.com - After selecting Personal account, it takes you to the following secure (session info seems to be included) URL:
https://cibng.ibanking-services.com/cib/CEBMainServlet/Login?FIORG=774&FIFID=084201294

Hope this helps! I'd love to use mint!

I was unable to connect to my bank (Eastman Credit Union). When I went to login, I had to enter 3 items: Password, Account Number, and "Answer 2". On the Eastman CU website, all you have to do is enter your account number and password, but when using mint.com, it would just chug along for a few minutes and then say it couldn't connect. Coming from a web development background, I decided to try a few things. I entered my account number into the field and my password, but this time I entered "true" into "Answer 2" and lo and behold, it connected and works just fine. This is very interesting.

Hey guys (and gals) - congrats to the Mint team for your TechCrunch victory! I really enjoy the design of the app and kudos for the nice "Ajaxy" goodies implemented in the backend.

I did find one possible issue with my Credit Union (Mountain America Credit Union - Utah). It seems there have been issues with the addition of Mountain America accounts to Mint. I experienced it as well and found the issue may be in the URL used to post to the site's online banking application.

Could it be that the following:

"uri":"https://www.mtnamerica.org"

should be:

"uri":"https://www.macu.org"

I am not sure as the current Mountain America online banking login form posts here:

https://www.macu.com/onlineserv/HB/Login.cgi

Just a thought - I will leave it up to the programming experts at Mint to work with. Thanks again for a fine application which I anticipate using even further (and sharing with friends, family) when I can gain access to my CU accounts.

Hopefully this bank hasn't been reported already; I didn't see it, and you have my apologies if so.

Guaranty Bank
http://www.guarantybanking.com

The login for the online banking starts on the main site page, http://www.guarantybanking.com, then leaves that URL/domain, for secureinternetbank.com, where everything else happens. After inputting my login ID at guarantybanking.com, if I'm not recognized as having been there before from the machine I'm on at the time, the secureinternetbank URL throws up a Security Challenge that will hit me with one of three questions I've predesignated, expecting the correct answer.

I'm then taken to a page with a graphic I have preselected and a password box that prompts for my password. (I'm taken directly to this page if the necessary cookie or whatever is set and I've already been recognized as having been there from that particular PC before.)

The Add Account box in the Mint.com UI shows "Guaranty Bank" and a link to http://www.guarantybanking.com/guarantybanking/ below it. This URL actually doesn't go anywhere; the correct main page for Guaranty Bank is http://www.guarantybanking.com/ without the extra 'guarantybanking/' at the end.

Additionally, it seems it doesn't recognize my bank's login requirements correctly, as it only asks for

Access ID
Password
Answer 1

and I have no idea which of the three security challenge question responses "Answer 1" is supposed to refer to. On a lark, I made the answers to all three of my challenge questions the same answer, but it made no difference...still no love.

My attempt to connect eventually always seems to time out with a message about my bank being down (it's not) or the connection being too slow (I'm sure you're know the error msg ;)).

Thanks for your help. :)

Have successfully added 12 of 13 accounts so far. So far everything looks great with the site.

The last account I am unable to connect to is Associated Credit Union. Their URL is acuonline.org.

I have verified the account # and password with the CU, however there is a mismatch in the number of challenge questions asked. On acuonline.com only 1 security question is stored where the mint.com window asks for two questions.

I have tried and failed leaving the 2nd box blank and re-entering the known security question.

I havent been able to add my bank and it is probably an error that needs addressed since the login screen does not ask for any of the "challenge questions"

Bank:
Wright Patt Credit Union

Website:
mint has www.wright-pattcu.org listed, the new url is www.wpcu.coop and the old url will redirect to this new url.

Login:
Mint currently only asks for account number/name and password, but this bank requires you to select at least 5 challenge questions from the list of questions it supplies. It will pick randomly from this list after you login to further verify your credentials. The list of questions are in alphabetical order below:

What School did you attend in the 3rd grade?
What highschool did you graduate from?
What is the first and last name of your First boyfriend or girlfriend?
What is your favorite color?
What is your favorite food?
What is your favorite ice cream?
What is your favorite sport?
What is your wedding anniversary date? Month and day ie 0205
What was the model of your first car?
What was the name of the hospital where you were born?
What was the name of your first pet?
What was your childhood nickname?
What was your favorite place to visit as a child?
What was your favorite subject in school?
What year was your father born?
What year was your mother born?
Which phone number do you remember most from your childhood?
Who was your favorite childhood hero?
Who was your first employer?
This security requirement is a new "feature" they have added in the last few months, maybe 3-4 months ago.
Here are the setup instructions from the profile managment page:

Please select and answer the Security Questions we will use to ensure only authorized access to your account takes place.

Remember not to share your questions or answers with anyone.

You must answer at least 5 questions, but you can answer more.

You cannot select the same question twice.

Answers are not case sensitive, and must contain only 0-9, and A-Z. Do not use special characters, such as %`;”<>{}\.

Answers for previously selected Security Questions cannot be changed, but the questions may be deleted.
I hope this helps!

I'm not sure if this is related to this thread, but I can't seem to find anything else on it. Has anyone else had any problems with adding their Wachovia account? I successfully added my Wachovia credit card, but it doesn't seem to be picking up my savings and checking accounts as well (it's all contained in the online banking site).

Any suggestions?

I've been trying to add Fifth Third Bank with no luck...

- Login ID and password with no additional challenge question
- I can successfully login at www.53.com
- I get the following error:
Could not connect

Mint cannot connect to your account right now:

* Fifth Third Bank - Credit Cards may be down for maintenance
* The connection may be too slow

Problems like these are usually resolved in 24 hours.

This most often happens on the "Verifying username and password" step, sometimes on the "establishing a secure connection" step, and once I made it to the "downloading transactions" step before it crapped out. I've tried at pretty much all times of the day or night.

Thanks for the help!

Haven't been able to use Huntington (www.huntington.com) I am rather certain security questions are needed. Here are the security questions I am asked (if this helps):

What was the name of your elementary school?
What is the name of the street that you grew up on?
What is the name of your favorite pet?

Hey guys, I'm having a similar problem with Huntington Bank (http://www.huntington.com). I try to setup my bank account in the system, it trys to login then says that the password is incorrect. I triple-checked to be sure it wasn't just me. :p

Huntington does use security questions when you try to login from a different IP or computer than you typically do. I imagine this might be causing the problem?

I can't add this one either. It looks like the site is directing to www.circuitcity.com instead of service.fnanb.com.

If you select fnanb as the card it points to the correct site but still wont connect. One can only wonder what the owners of the site have been doing since obviously they havent been working on making sure that accounts can connect....

Bank Name: Florida State University Credit Union (Credit Card)
URL to Access: Credit Card Login Page (https://www.epscu.com/servlet/5455/raAppHtml?ServicePageName=com.invisiondev.JServer. xml.xmlProcess&RQID=LOGINMFA&ORGID=5455)
Additional Login Information: There is one security question which it asks on an unregistered computer. There are a number of questions to choose from, such as "What is your favorite color?". You can then choose to register the computer.

I would like to add this Credit Card account to my Mint.com accounts, but this third question is probably the reason I cannot. Thank you :)

Been trying to add a Southwest airlines visa for more than a week. Used to get the message about how it was down for service. Now I get a message that says:

Southwest Airlines Visa requires a few extra steps before you can add your account to Mint.

1. Login to American Express Cards directly

However, it's not an Amex card and when I click the link it takes me to the Chase sign in screen where I can successfully sign in.

Extra auth: They ask me three questions along the lines of "What was your first pet's name?" in addition to member number and password.
I can easily log in on hiway.org directly. Additionally, HSBC EasyView (Yodlee OnCenter) works with hiway.org.

I keep getting that my account is locked out message, however when logging into austin telco from their own website works perfect.

I think I'm having a similar problem as other users. I'm trying to add American Chartered Bank: www.americanchartered.com

Mint's login asks for: login ID, password, and answer1.

American Chartered asks for: login ID, password, and an answer to a rotating set of three questions.

My guess is that when I try to log on via Mint, "answer1" doesn't really match up to the particular security question that was picked.

I dont know if this is IE7 or the site, but when I go to add PNC Bank to my list of accounts, the security questions are cut off midway in the drop-down so I can't tell which security question is which one so I can put the correct answers in.

With Countrywide Bank, its still not working. Login screen requires a selection to go to My Banking and View Account details and asks for userid on the first page and has a sitekey (no info needed, it just asks you to visually confirm) and then password required on the next page.

https://bank.countrywide.com/ is the login url

Noticed today it is now asking for security questions to access the account and they are also truincated. HOWEVER no security info is needed to log into this account from Countrywide and I don't recall if I did setup security questions when I first enter the account. Will try the ones I would have most likely used to see if it works however.

You've recently updated your site so I can properly add my Virigina Credit Union account -- That is awesome, thanks!

It adds my savings & checking account, but not my credit card or my loan balance. Both of these are viewable on my back account site, but not on Mint.

Also, It is only pulling down the most recent 15-20 transactions, can it pull down more than that?

Ok after I saw it untruincated on Firefox for Countrywide I did realize when I setup the account I entered in questions. However on the main website it wont ask for those security questions if you log in directly through countrywide. Seems like this did the trick.

Oddly 2 other side affects now:

Bank of America (WA & ID) - Credit Card logo is missing for some reason. No big deal.

Also my HSBC account is showing 2 accounts which are no longer active and are closed. I had a problem with HSBC Easyview (Yodlee) which I am using back to back with Mint (If Mint goes prime, then Ill use Mint over Easyview, but its still in beta) and they fixed it for me, but oddly Mint is now showing these 2 closed accounts.

Will try to remove and readd the Bank to see if this fixes the problem.

I am the biggest fan of mint!!! You guys are so awesome and it must take herculean programming power to create so many custom interfaces to connect to (constantly changing) banking services! Kudos!! (and thank you so much!!) :D I love you guys!!

That said, I am still unable to connect to Citizens Bank. :( I'm not sure if this matters or not, but mint is showing that the url is citizensbank.com, but the online banking is actually at citizensbankonline.com. I have had no problem hooking in all my other bank accounts... I would be so appreciative if you could get this bank working!!

I'm unable to add my Watermark Credit Union account to mint.com.

The url is http://www.watermarkcu.org/

From that page you enter your account number, and hit a login button.

That jumps you to a second page, https://auth.watermarkcu.org/cgi-bin/traceassure#
where you must enter your password. The system knows if you're at a computer other than your own and will challenge you with a question if that's the case. It presents an onscreen keyboard where you must type your response from a selected group of characters that contain the answer to your question.

Pretty sophisticated security.

Lance,

Watermark works for me. Mint now asks for your main password and the secondary password. However, Mint is not capturing all transactions available online, only the first page. Additionally, Mint isn't picking up the additional transaction information, only the bank codes, so you won't know who the merchants are. Hopefully they can resolve this soon.

I have been able to add 5 of my 7 accounts to Mint and am very satisfied with it so far, although actually looking at my spending on gas makes me a little sick. I am currently having issues with my checking account at www.1stkentuckyexpress.com. I am unsure if the online services for this bank is provided by CSI or Digital Insight, but I do believe that these companies provide the online banking services for many other community banks and so a fix to this one site would help for lots of other banks. Thanks for the updates and any help you can provide.

I've been able to get MSUFCU to properly activate by making sure that the same three questions Mint asks during setup appear in the same order as the three questions in the MSUFCU setup. Does that make sense?

MSUFCU uses multuple security questions. Users can choose varying questions from a list, but they have to choose at least 3. Once they do that, they are numbered.

The current account add options on Mint only allow 1 answer.

I've emailed MSUFCU to see if there's something they can do.

Love the site, hope you can help me out.

"I've been able to get MSUFCU to properly activate by making sure that the same three questions Mint asks during setup appear in the same order as the three questions in the MSUFCU setup"

Thanks for posting the tip for the folks here.

If your bank has security questions that are required, then people might be able to find the answers in their bank's account profile and/or by calling their customer service department.

Note: Security fields are sometimes optional.

I'm trying to add Idahy FCU (www.idahy.org). Mint finds the institution, but isn't able to establish connection.

Available fields are: Acct #, E-mail Address & Password.

Initially, Idahy asks only for a account number on the mani page. Whenever I log-on from a different machine, the second screen asks for an e-mail address. It then takes me to a third screen which asks 3 security questions (chosen during setup) and asks if it is a personal or public computer. The next (Whew) screen shows a confidence word and asks for the account password.

If you can get this to work, I will be amazed and praise your mad security bending skills.

OK. My Watermark CU accounts are loading, but I still have two issues. One, the details of the accounts are not being read properly. Two, my credit card account is not being included. I have seen this referred to many times, but still no fix: Keybank requires an ATM number and a PIN. There is a field on the Mint Add Accounts form for the account number and the issue number, but not for the PIN. This would seem to be a trivial thing to fix. Why hasn't it been addressed after all this time? Right now Mint is useless to me, and many others as well.

The traditional way I access this online is by logging on to www.wachovia.com and entering my User ID and Passward. This is the same website I use to access my Savings and checkings account that I have already added to mint.com.
