I currently use mint to track my investments in Dividend Reinvestment Accounts. The display for this is already great. But what I'd like to see is an actually representation of my gain / loss in these accounts based on my monthly contributions to these accounts. No other web based finance product I've come across does this; in fact not many web based finance products actually track fractional shares at all, so kudos to Mint in that regard. But the tracking could go much further than just showing values for fractional shares. For instance if I have a DRIP for company XYZ and I invest $50 on a monthly basis into this DRIP. I'd like to see an accurate gain / loss reflection for the past three months over which the purchase price fluctuated as follows ::
Purchase 1 @ $100 = .5 Shares
Purchase 2 @ $90 = .555 Shares
Purchase 3 @ $105 = .476 Shares
Total Share balance : 1.531 Share
Current Share Price : $110 / share
Avg Price / Share $98.33
Gain / Loss = ?
or furthermore tracking the following additional complexity ::
Purchase 1: Invest $50 @ $100 / Share = .5 Shares
to
Purchase 2 : Invest $60 @ $90 / Share = .666 Shares
to
Purchase 3 : Invest $70 @ $105 / Share = .666 Shares
Total Share Balance : 1.832 Shares
Gain / Loss : ?
Are there any plans on implementing a solution to track such investment vehicles at Mint? I'd love to see it and I'm sure many others out there would as well.
