Closed account - old data disappeared!

I recently (within the last week) closed one of the two checking accounts that I had linked to my Mint account. Today, upon logging into Mint for the first time since making this administrative change, I noticed that the account I closed has now completely disappeared from my Mint account...all of my data previously associated with this account (multitudes of transactions, accounting for huge portions of my spending) is gone!

Now, when I look back at "old" spending trends (i.e. March 2007), my data is very skewed. I know that Mint is programmed to pull current data, and therefore I understand that there is no longer any account data for it to pull from the account that I closed, but why was all my old data deleted??

Did you close or delete it in Mint?

Neither - I didn't do anything to it in Mint. I would have changed the status of the account to "Closed", but didn't even have the opportunity to, as it disappeared before I could...
