Mint support,
Please increase the number of words that can be used in the autocatagorize function or rule.

For example my bank has an ebill function where all ebill paid transaction statements start with the letters "BP" which stands for Bill Pay. So all bills paid online start with "BP" for the transaction. When I epay my electric bill, my heating bill, my mortgage, etc they all start with "BP" in the statement. Example transactions in a statement would be

"BP electric bill"
"BP oil bill"
"BP mortgage company"
etc

Because the autocatagorize function/rule only looks at the first word in the transaction I can't setup autocatagorize for any of my online bill payments. Any rule I setup is based on the first word in the statement, "BP" and won't allow me to use any other words in the transaction. Becuase of this the autocatagorize function is useless for me. Please allow a user to create a autocatagorize rule based on a specific syntax string or words in a transaction.

Other than this I think MINT is nice product.

Thanks

Are you sure it only looks at the first word? It seems like it looks at the whole name for the rules I created.

It's not one, but it's short.

I'm guessing its what fits in the column displayed in Transactions.

I have the same problem. Of course, this is getting worse as most billers switch to substitute checks.

For me, a simple rule that was "skip the following phrase if found in the front of my transactions" would fix the problem

Agreed. My home loan, car loan, and both my life insurance policies are with USAA. So every transaction shows up as "USAA" prefix. It would be way better if they would allow 10-20 characters for a rule, so I could distinguish between "USAA TERM LIFE" and "USAA AUTO LOAN"

It's not one word, but I know it's short enough to screw up auto categorize for my automatic bill payments since they all show up as "ACH Withdrawal - <biller>"

I still have the exact same problem as the OP - all my bills are recorded as 'BP'.

I've looked around for some way to fix this but haven't found anything...anyone have any ideas?

I'd like to add my vote for this; All the businesses we shop at are on the same street, so "So. Anywhere Street" does not work as a filter. If I could just put the address into the filter, it would save us a ton of hassle.
