Hi,

My husband and I are trying to implement Dave Ramsey’s "zero based budget" with Mint, but I can't figure out how to get all our spending to show up in Mint's budget categories. For instance, the money we're spending paying off credit cards shows up in the "credit card payment" category in transactions, but I can't seem to add that under the budget options.

Is it possible to have ALL your transactions expressed in the budgets?

Thanks very much,
MK

This would be an incredible feature. However, it doesn't seem to occur to the Mint team how important something like this is since, as of now, there is no way to manage your budget against your income.

I think Mint is very aware of existing feedback about the Budgeting feature, so don't get discouraged!

A workaround that has been suggested is to tag the Transfer transactions with other, unused categories. For example, use Business Services for credit card payments.

It's not perfect, but it will allow you to see all of your spending in the Trends pie charts.

Good luck! Mint is an awesome tool, and I'm thisclose from dumping Quicken 2007 forever!
