a) Login to your Mint account.
b) Click on the “Transactions” tab.
c) Locate the name of the merchant you want to change & check the box next to their name. Hit the “rename” button at the top of the page, which will open a box allowing you to change the merchant’s name.

It seems that it's not possible to "batch" rename transactions. For example, when I select three transactions, click "rename," enter a name, and then click save it says that it saved it and on that page it physically renamed the transactions, but when I navigate away from those transactions and then go back to look at them it's as though I never renamed them.
This doesn't seem to be a problem when "batch" categorizing though.

Update on Renaming and Categorizing:

It seems that these features are pretty finicky. I'm not getting any errors or unusual behavior when I rename or assign a category to my transactions, but it's not always saving everything. I'll rename 10 different transactions, all separately, and see that they have been renamed, until I navigate away from that page and the return to find that only 4 or 5 have actually been renamed and the others are back to what they were originally named. This happens with categories as well, but less frequently.
Sound like a bug or is there something I'm missing?

I am running into the same problem. I am using Firefox 2.0.0.6 on Mac OS 10.4.10.

Hmmm...I do know that browsers that are related to Apple do cause some problems.

Always feel free to send a screenshot & email to feedback@mint.com. A brief, bulleted description of the problem will assist a great deal.
