First of all, now that Mint.com has fixed all the bugs that affected me, I LOVE using the site! Thanks for all your hard work. Now for my idea:
I frequently review the "total" budget bar graph on the overview to get a birds-eye-view of my monthly budget. Unfortunately, that bar graph is only useful to see incurred expenses. It would be really useful if I could label some transactions as "MONTHLY FIXED EXPENSE" such as rent/mortage, utilities, car payments, etc. This could be done as a checkbox for the expense similar how I can "create a rule" to categorize.
This way, the Mint.com application could a more accurate "total" bar graph to reflect fixed costs each day of the month, rather than all at once when the expense is incurred. For example, If rent is $2,000/mo and car payment is $300/mo, I could indicate those expenses as "monthly fixed" and the "total" bar graph would slide to the right $74 each day ($2,300/31). Since some users may prefer the current "as incurred" total bar graph, Mint.com may want to consider my version as an additional bar graph instead of a replacement.
With this feature, I really think users would have a much more accurate picture to see if they're above/below that months budget.
