Just found a bunch of duplicate transactions in my accounts. I know Mint is working on this issue, but it will never be 100% perfect. Mint has to rely on the source data and hope that the details don't change.

Here is what I'd like to see. I press a button and Mint displays all of the potential duplicate transactions. I can then review and flag myself it is a real duplicate. Once complete, Mint will delete (or hide) the dupes.

The dup logic could be something like:
- Is amount same
- Is transaction date within 1 days (plus or minus)
- Is same account
- Is merchant “almost” the same

The logic can be refined as learning improves.

Call it the "Dupe Sniffer"

Interesting suggestion (we have something that does a lot of this behind the scenes).

We're going to look at also giving customers a full delete feature as well.

The suggested duplicate logic would not work in my case. About half the duplicates in my account are two or more days apart. Some duplicates get resolved after a week or more except those that are more than one day apart. I like the idea though - since there are a great many duplicates, it would make it more convenient. However, it is still a hack and not a true solution. The true solution is, I assume, far more complicated but would mean the transactions in Mint match those at the institution.
