Mint will do the following for you:

1. Mint will help you keep track of your spending in one place.
2. Mint will help you categorize your transactions in a way that makes sense for you.
3. Mint will provide you with special offers that will save you money. Spending to much on your cell phone? We'll show you other offers. Spending too much on your credit card? We'll show you better offers, such as a lower APR for a new card, without you having to look around the internet.

Best of all, unlike many other financial tools or software that are out there, Mint is free for you to use. Nothing beats free very much, really.

See the "Ways to Save" /"Offers" Page.

I think he was asking more along the lines of actually how... since it would have to take into account how many minutes you use each month, etc... otherwise it will always find "savings" because a plan with fewer minutes will always save you money.

I guess I'm confused on the cell phone example too... is the data you'd need even available?
