How do I delete an bank account from my profile?
1. Login to your Mint account.
2. Click on the “Your Accounts” tab.
3. Locate the account you wish to delete.
4. Click on the “x” in the account box & confirm you’d like to remove it from your profile.
Please note: The information above isn't for use for removing accounts from your financial institution (if you have two accounts, one business and one personal, from the same login) in your Mint profile. We currently don't support this, largely due to the fact that we read an "an account" as the login for the financial institution.

I currently have 3 accounts at American Express.
1 is my personal card
1 is for business
and 1 is an old corporate card.
I don't want to see the business or corporate card, but I just want to see my personal spending. How do I get rid of those 2 accounts?

These instructions aren't really for deleting accounts, they are for deleting an entire bank/institution.
Should probably be relabeled as such...

Ah, you can't currently do what you're looking to do (we consider an "account" to be the "login", which means it is going to pull all of the accounts under the login at your bank).
We do realize that this is problematic & we're looking at options that would allow customers to achieve what you're trying to do.

I would like to second the opinion of being able to select and de-select accounts from individual login accounts.

Ah thanks.
Especially for companies like AmEx, where they keep ALL your accounts, even the de-activated ones, I consider this a bit of a show-stopper.
Hope you guys fix it soon.

Agreed. The mixing of business and personal accounts -- especially via Amex -- creates pretty unusable results. Any solution to exclude a specific card within an 'Account' from statistics or tracking would be really useful.

Agreed, an account at one of my institutions are family funds that I don't want to see in my personal transactions. In other products: quicken and wesabe, I was easily able to delete or un-select a particular account from syncing I was surprised to not find that here. To me this is a severely lacking feature.

I also would like the feature of deleting specific accounts at one institution.
For example, I have a joint-account with my mother but it is not part of my personal finances.

We're looking to see if we can support allowing folks to exclude accounts/sub accounts.

I have to agree that not being able to exclude some accounts from my institution's login is a show stopper for me as well. I hope this feature gets implemented quickly.

I have multiple types of accounts present under one login
Personal Checking
Business Checking
Business Credit Card
Personal Credit Card
Mint only sees a portion of these accounts and there is no way to add/update/remove any of the accounts. I cannot use Mint until this is addressed.
I've seen a few posts from the Administrator during the April '07 timeframe addressing this issue but there has not been any indication when this functionality will be delivered. Any thoughts?

I have three accounts and a credit card with B of A. I do not want two of the accounts shown here. If you can't do it, I can't use you.

I don't have a date just yet. It is a known issue that we're working on, however (sub accounts).

Just throwing in my two cents that this would be an excellent feature to have and would encourage my use of Mint.

I believe you are referring to the admin member's "join" date and not the date of the posting which was sometime in Sept. As for you posting "show-stopper" this or that... this site is beta (and free) so let's try to offer constructive criticism and feedback so the hardworking codemonkeys can make it better.

Just throwing my vote in, no need to respond...
I also have a bank (Wells Fargo) which shows both my personal and business accounts under the same login. Two more examples: a bank (ING Direct) and brokerage (Schwab) that have all my accounts showing up (including my kids' accounts). I'd love to be able to check/select the ones to include and the ones to ignore.
THANKS! The site looks great so far.

I agree with you on that. But I just have a weird credit line duplication problem, making my transactions show up twice. Chase's problem really, but this feature would mitigate it.

Guys - please make this feature available soon. I have the same issue with Amex - one account is my company's WIP so having associated with my personal finances completely skews Mint's analysis. After site performance issues (associated with your TechCruch win), I would move this to the top of your improvement queue.

I noticed that my credit cards are separated from my checking/savings accounts. Thankfully, my Chase credit cards are also two different boxes on the accounts tab. Yesterday, I tried removing one of my credit cards and it removed all of my Chase accounts. Today, I tried again and it removed just my one Chase card from mint. This feature works exactly how I wanted it to! I hope there are no problems with that...

Mint.com was recommended by a friend, but now I see that I cannot make use of your service until this feature is added. Since everything is auto-computed, I cannot really use your service for its most powerful and unique features. Is there any way I can receive an email when you implement this extremely important ability, to disable sub-accounts? I'll start using Mint.com as soon as it's possible to do so. Thanks so much.

We do keep tabs on customers that ask for such features (sub accounts). I would also recommend keeping an eye on "Mint Announcements" because we will notify customers of updates/changes there.

Was the ability to easily delete or un-select a particular account from a group of say BofA accounts ever added into Mint? I really need to be able to do this too.

Can you tell us how?
I finally decided to give it a try after hearing so many great things, but this is a deal-breaker for me (Amex Bus/Pers).

Damon - It's been over a year since everyone has been asking about this. Do you have an answer on wether you guys will support this?
I'm not sure if this is the same issue but it seems once accounts are added to Mint they cannot be deleted (I mean accounts, not bank institutions). For example if you add a bank institution that has say 3 accounts (checking ,savings and say another checking). All three will display - ok. But say you go to your bank and cancel, delete one of those accounts. Within MINT there is no way to delete it. All you can do is Close it or Hide it but it still shows up (even though it's not being updated anymore).
How do you delete those all together?
Thanks!

I'm relatively new to Mint, I was wondering if the ability to delete specific accounts from one institution had been added yet? If it is, I can't seem to figure it out!
I did review the boards though and noticed a lot of traffic regarding this feature during 2007.
Has this been resolved?

Hmmm...is there still no way to delete a sub-account under a login? My wife and I each has our own login at a brokerage. Hers includes our joint taxable account plus her IRA. Mine includes my IRA and, once again, our joint taxable account. This means our joint account shows up twice, which means our total assets show up higher in Mint than they really are. Is there any way to fix this? If not, does Mint have a plan to address this soon?
I'm newly Minted:D and am still learning-but WOWed by the advances over Quicken(I m an ignored-by-Intuit MAC user)I've read way back to 2007 beta comments- has the issue of deleting sub accounts been resolved?

Damon, is it safe to say it's NOT being worked on anymore? Iphone app comes out (how many people were really requesting that?) but this core feature still isn't implemented?
Lack of this feature makes this site worthless to too many people to not have fixed it by now.

Please reply. The Mint tool looks great, but for me my business accounts show up. I just referred this website to friends, but without the ability to delete the business accounts is completely useless. Please advise. If it is not on the near term horizon I will look elsewhere.

All you guys need to do to filter out an account is click on "Your Accounts" at the top of the page.
Then scroll over the account you'd like to hide and click on "Edit Details".
Go to the pulldown menu "Status" and select "Hidden".
Thanks Mint, keep up the good work.

I created a page for my business and it took me to the profile option, so I put in my name. It now means I can't reply to customers fans as the company; it will only let me reply as the new profile I accidentally created. Does anyone know how I can delete the profile without the page being deleted? Thanks!

I don't have the 'hidden' option. (Open/Closed only). Also, If I set it to closed, it still takes the old transactions into the trends. How do I make sure that my business account and the old transactions are deleted?..
Thanks...

The hidden option is now in the your profile area and then to the right there is a tab for hidden. This seems to allow you to hide the accounts for the planning or trend areas.
