View Full Version : Deleting transactions

I have a joint account with my son that I do not want to be part of my transaction reports. It's his spending, not mine. I have marked the account "closed," but his transactions still come up in my spending trends. I can't just exclude his transactions, because then if he and I spend separately at the same merchant, my spending at that merchant is not tracked. What do I do?

Have you also tried using the hidden option?

Yes, that worked. Thanks
Now if you can tell me how to change a rule that excludes a certain transaction -- it's not working for me, and I see other people are having the same problem. I mistakenly excluded Jiffy Lube and can't seem to reverse it.
If I make a mistake for some reason I want to be able to delete it. I forgot to add 47 cents to a Split & now it's sitting there as something else & I can't get rid of it. Very frustrating. I don't know of any other computer program that doesn't allow deleting!

They recently added this feature about a week ago. :)
On the transactions page, there's a link that says "Edit Rules" above and below the "Date" column. That will bring up a list of your current rules, which you can then edit or delete. :)

You could manually categorize them (or with a rule) to "ignore from Mint". That way, your account will still show up, and your transactions will too, but your son's transactions will not show up.

RE: nanj and DELETING TRANSACTIONS
yes yes yes!!!! PLEASE let us delete transactions!
i went in to split a purchase, and i guess i messed up somehow (i don't think i capitalized the merchant's name, which made mint think it was a different xaction [?]), and now i have a xaction for $0.00 that's just sitting there! (June 30/Target)
sooooo annoying. the "exclude from mint" and "hide" options i have found useful in other situations, but not this one--i just want the entry gone.

I would like to delete transactions simply to make my account history uniform.
My credit card history goes back 4 months and my checking account history goes back 2 months. Since I can not upload the transaction history of my checking account, I would like to delete the first two months of transactions for my credit card.
Any help much appreciated. Thanks.

Is there any progress on letting the user delete transactions?
