Mint Forums -

Just wanted to get your opinion on a small change to the "Cash vs. Debt" display on the main page. I'm attaching an example of the current display, and a proposed one. I just think the proposal makes it a little easier to see the overall cash and debt values. Also attaching the HTML for reference.

Thanks,
Josh

Great work Josh putting this together, I believe we need more Polls and user submissions like yours. We all can't just wait around for things to change, sometimes we need to stand up ourselves and make it happen. I have submitted this forum post to Digg.com to hopefully bring some traffic here for voting as well as blogged about it on my webpage.

Again great work and a positive vote from me

I like the new one but I think it would look better if it was rounded instead of square.

I like the new display. Look forward to adding etrade brokerage accounts, and maybe retirement accounts someday?

If the cash vs. debt ratio is pretty even (i.e. I'm $2 in debt), there would be no space to display the $X.XX label since the 2 bars would be almost equal.

That is an easy one: You put it in front of the bar when it won't fit.

I prefer the old way

Is there a way to not include certain accounts in the cash vs. debt ratio? I don't want to consider savings and brokerage accounts as money that's available to me... really just my checking minus all my credit cards. Is this possible?

I agree. I would like to be able to determine which accounts are used in ALL of the charts or reports. Today I have a money market that I consider cash falling in the investment category and I have an IRA in the cash category. Therefore this chart would make no sense for me.
