Is there a way to add transactions yourself? I can't get my bank to load and it would be helpful to be able to add those transactions in myself to see a good budget!

Same thing here. Adding cash compromises the integrity of the data.Is there a way to add transactions yourself? I can't get my bank to load and it would be helpful to be able to add those transactions in myself to see a good budget! The way it appears now. Everything in Mint, has a paper trail. You can count on the accuracy of the information as far as it goes. You can make up a spreadsheet or something to cover cash and excluded accounts. Mint is compiling a valuable product that is verifiable and secure.

Well, withdrawing cash from an account also leaves a paper trail which Mint already accounts for. So why can't that be budgeted against? Why can't I budget $x/mo in cash withdrawals, and have Mint track that?
I just signed up for Mint yesterday, and I must say that irks me.

Well UnnDunn, you know this is similar to what I mentioned in post:Ok, a worker buys a hammer. Where is he going to put it in Mint?
..our bottom line is knowing how our funds were actually spent. Not how they match up with some ".. peoples," categories. It does us a disservice when large amounts of perfectly normal ordinary expenses, fall only into “No Category!”
You can do whatever you want as long as you can fit into one of these pre-selected groups. Why can't I budget $x/mo in cash withdrawals, and have Mint track that?
For example if you do not have any, you can budget your atm withdrawals calling them Pets!

Whenever you use an atm, just stick it in Pets. Then you know how you are doing relative to your personal budget for atm Pets.

Couldn't you split your ATM/cash withdrawals to track these as well?

From what I read here, you would like a category choice for budget so you can budget xxx amount per month in cash withdrawals? If so, wouldn't that cash be targeted towards one of the existing categories? Just curious...

Existing or non-existing. If so, wouldn't that cash be targeted towards one of the existing categories? You are supposing that this limited chart of accounts covers normal people in daily life. What category covers simple stuff like union dues, or tools?
What about buying Gold Coins off the books?
Why can’t Mint users choose their own categories?

Yeah, but how can I indicate that to Mint without the ability to manually post transactions? I don't do separate cash withdrawals for every little thing I buy with cash, and it's unrealistic to expect one to do so. What, am I going to run to an ATM every time I want to buy a hot-dog on an NYC street-corner? Even if I did do that, ATMs dispense twenties, and hot-dogs cost $1.50. I'm not going to reserve the remaining $18.50 to buy nothing but hot-dogs.
I might pull out enough to cover me for the weekend, and spend it on several different things. None of those will appear on Mint.
I've already transitioned the bulk of my spending to my check card so I can track it on Mint, but there are those little things where the merchant cannot and will not accept plastic.
Mint already has a category in the Transaction list for Cash and ATM. Why can't that be added to the budget screen?
