I just signed up for mint on Jan 1st and I can only view transactions from Dec 1st to now. How long will transactions be able to view?
For instance, if I want to compare my spending from this year, next year, will I be able to view that information? Or does it depend on how far back your bank usually allows you to view that info online?

I am also a new user and would like to add more than the 2.5 months history that was automatically added...how do I get transaction history to extend backward?

No way to pull in more data at this time (something we're looking into). The general average is about thirty days back right now, but this can vary by bank (beyond our direct control).

Would be good to add more data if possible - would help mint stack up against fee budgeting software like quicken...

I only have about 10 days of history, which doesn't even include the whole month of April...As a result, my budget and actual output is quite skewed. I assume my accounts are responsible and not Mint? Anything I can do about this?

Mint can only pull what is visible in online banking at your bank. I have been on Mint for a while now, and I can see back almost a year.
Mint doesn't delete old data that it has, but it can't add back farther than it can see.

Hey Eric--
When you say "a while", does mint remember everything from the time you signed up?

Well my bank goes back 90 days, but I can only see 12 days. Can I assume that Mint will gradually pick up those days?

It seems like Mint has limited access to past transactions, and this limit seems to vary by bank. I guess some banks feel the need to restrict the amount of access 3rd parties (like Mint) have to their customers account information.
So unless Mint starts letting us import transaction information, you won't be able to view those old transactions through Mint.
At least Mint doesn't delete old data that it has, to quote an earlier post from eric1985.

Some banks may allow access to various numbers of days going back and some will limit what Mint can get to the last statement date. So you may be able to see 90 days on your bank site but if your bank statement date was 12 days ago, Mint may only be able to pull that 12 days. I can see 6 months of statements on my bank web site but Mint only picks up what has not been archived by the bank yet which is usually the last statement give or take a week or two. Sometimes the bank doesn't archive the past statement for a couple weeks.

Mint never gets rid of old data that it has picked up. I have everything from about a month before I signed up until now.
