I've seen some other posts in the Mint forums dealing with the non-categorization of transactions coming from Navy Federal Credit Union.

Hopefully I can help the development team along the path to getting this figured out.

When a member logs into their NFCU account, they are presented with an "All Transaction Activity" view, which details all transactions for that particular account (Visa Check card, ATM withdrawals, deposits, etc). This is the information that Mint uses for it's transaction information.

This view unfortunately provides no detailed information regarding the Visa transaction that took place. For example:
11/27/2007 POS Debit-VISA #### $18.82-

This is the detail that Mint provides.

Again, from the NFCU account page, you can choose to view only POS transactions. From this view, you get detailed information:
11/27/2007 MANGIA 23RD STREET NEW YORK $18.82-

This is the detail that needs to be presented via Mint.

So I think the root of this issue is either the method that Mint uses to query this data from NFCU, or the data the NFCU provides via it's API (or some such thing).

The Quicken data that others have referenced, is generated from the POS Transactions page, which provides the detailed information.

Here is my information as requested by the development team:

1. email address of your account
- I use gmail and my address is bkchapman
2. the date of the transaction.
- All transactions exhibit this behaviour, but for the sake of example, 11/27/2007 (See above)
3. the category/name that we assigned to the transaction.
- Sadly, none. It's hard to categorize POS Debit-Visa!
4. what the original name of the transaction was (you can get this by hovering your mouse over the transaction).
- POS Debit-Visa #### (Last 4 digits of Visa check card)
5. If categorization, we will also need what the category *should* have been.
- See #3
6. The name of the bank/url of bank (just for tracking purposes)
- Navy Federal Credit Union
- http://www.navyfcu.org

Thanks alot guys, this is a great product!
