I hope the ability to edit the rules that you have setup for renaming and categorization is coming soon. I've unfortunately had to stop using my account because of past rules that I created during all the testing and what not that are now all interfering with each other and making any of the reporting totally useless to me.

I actually went and created another account but then messed up one of the rules... and creating another rule to fix it doesn't seem to really work. :(

Shoot me a quick PM so I don't forget to include this in my next feedback report. Also tell me what you think would work best...

I concur with this. I've found myself in a situation where my rules are automatically renaming transactions due to errors on my part. For example, I have rules that will automatically and erroneously rename different types of utility bills as "Mortgage" , and there's now way to remedy this without manually going in and renaming them.

I simply want to eliminate this rule and recreate it correctly. I think that minimally a way to list the current rule set and delete individual rules would cover all the use cases.

Thanks,

Keith

Definitely something we've talked about internally. I would expect some changes to this in the near future.

Add another voice to the pile... I just signed up an hour ago and I've already ruined my account because I can't remove rules...

If you are having issues with rules, then please use the contact form & explain the problem. I will have a bug filed so we can remove your rules in the short term.

Note: This information is also helpful when dealing with transaction issues.

We're going to do some more investigative work to improve the transaction renaming and categorization process. In order to do so, I need help from our community in making this better & invite people to contact us (https://wwws.mint.com/contact.event) with these issues. Please file under: Bug Transactions.

Here's what we need:
1. email address of your account
2. the date of the transaction.
3. the category/name that we assigned to the transaction.
4. what the original name of the transaction was (you can get this by hovering your mouse over the transaction).
5. If categorization, we will also need what the category *should* have been.
6. The name of the bank/url of bank (just for tracking purposes)

We will also be doing the same for no category transactions, such as when the transaction name is simply a series of numbers that came across from your bank.

I'd like to second this, if possible. I love the site and could almost replace Quicken with what I do, except that I have a few rules that are screwed up and I cannot fix them.

Is there anyway to clear out all the rules? Beg a developer? Is this a planned feature at some point?

Until I get the rules fixed, the site is nearly useless.

Heh. The page didn't load all the way before I posted my comment. I'll fill out a bug report.

Thanks!

Hi Folks,

I can have rules removed. If you need rules removed right now, please file a bug report & mention "remove rules" so I can file it (it would also be great to mention a specific rule and/or if you need all rules removed).
