View Full Version : US Bank on ling bill pay transactions not categorizing properly

I'm having a problem with any transaction with the merchant name "Web Authorized Pmt". These are all transactions that represent my online bill pay activity through US Bank.

I've tried for over a week now to successfully recategorize them without success. Here's the typical scenerio.

I take all of my student loan transactions and categorize them as "Student Loan". If I create a rule then ALL "Web Authorized Pmt" transactions become "Student Loan". I can tell which transactions are which by hovering the mouse over "Web Authorized Pmt" title. That will show the full name of the transaction ... such as "Web Authorized Pmt Aurora Loan Services" or "Web Authorized Pmt Xcel Energy" and so on.

If I decide not to create a rule and just categorize them individually (which is a huge pain) it appears that all is fine for a short time. I'll later find that all of my "Web Authorized Pmt" transactions have reverted back to the "Utilities" category (or whatever the last category was that I tried creating a rule for for this specific type of transaction). Sometimes this happens within the same session. At the very least the categories will revert if I leave the site and come back the next day.

What I have here are completely uncategorizable transactions.

Thoughts or suggestions on how I might go about resolving this issue?
